December 2019, when a virus is already starting to make its name in Wuhan, China. It’s an unknown virus that its way of killing is also new to everyone. It was on the 2nd week of March when this virus, now called COVID-19, already filling up every news on televisions, radios, newspapers and tabloids talking about how fatal and dangerous it can be once it gets inside your whole being. The world has seen how this virus stole the lives of unlucky people, the freedom of every human being and the normal life they have been living for their entire life.

It was like a dream for me as I have experienced this kind of pandemic. It feels like yesterday I’m living in a bubble, doing the things I want, being with the people I love, not until that day comes when the bubble I have taken care so much already popped in an instant, not giving any warning. For weeks, we are force to stay in our house until the Enhanced Community Quarantine has been lifted, but then I realized that everything will never go back like the way it was before. This virus helped me realize a lot of things I never thought I would have. It transpired to me that as long as we are breathing we still a lot of hopes ahead of us. During the Enhanced Community Quarantine and General Community Quarantine I have realized a lot of things in terms of material things, emotional affection and quality time. Be contented on what you have because contentment is the reason why you’re happy despite of all the things that you don’t have. Material things are just temporary they can be destroyed, fade and rot but your happiness will always be in your heart. Emotional affection, this is what we need the most in the midst of this pandemic. We should show our love and affection with our family or to those people who need some affection so that they will never think that they are alone in this battle. Time, quality time with your family. Always treasure the moment you are with your family because you never know when will be the last you will be with them. This incident may have destroyed some lives and homes but we cannot change the fact that it brought us closer to one another especially to the people who are important to us.

As an ordinary person, I often thought about the future but this incident made me realize that it’s better to leave the past and stop thinking about the future because what matter the most for now is to live the present to the fullest for no one can bring back what is done already. With this virus spreading to the entire world, we are force to fight this unwanted battle against with the unseen enemy. We are taught how to fight this not with war equipments or paraphernalia but with the powerful words that come from our mouth. The words that make us keep going and hoping, our powerful and unending prayer.
