Some people experience depression. Some escape from it but there are people who are stuck on their situation and sometimes it becomes a serious problem where they take their own life.

We should know the signs when a person around us are experiencing depression for us to help them recover from it.

Ten Signs

1.Withdrawing from things they once enjoyed.

Some people with depression forget how to enjoy life. They are starting to forget those things that they are doing before. Those that makes them happy. Like playing sports and doing their hobbies.

2.Feeling really overwhelmed when talking to people and even when replying to message.

For others, it may be a good sign. But being overwhelmed even on a simple things can be a negative one as they push their self to react on something even they don't feel okay.

3.Struggling to leave your bed when you wake up because of the fatigue depression can leave you with even before you've done anything.

It's not the same when we are lazy. But it's the feeling that you don't want to do anything at all. You're down and no energy to move or do something.

4.Their memory has gotten worse and often forget things, struggle to hold a conversation or lose track of a conversation.

This happen when a person think too much or worry things even it's simple. Some are hard to talk to and say something that are not related to the topic.

5.Have a low mood, feeling hopeless and feel like you could break down at any moment.

I think this one was the common signs that we know. Feeling hopeless on everything in life. Thinking that all things are problems.

6.Changes in their mood at social event.

Sometimes they are happy and all of a sudden they feel like they are disconnected to everyone else. Changes of mood also happen to others.

7.They talk down about themselves and feel worthless or express they feel trapped and have a negative Outlook of the future.

They don't have any confidence for themselves and they think that anything they do are worthless or no one cares.

8.They use the excuse "I'm tired" a lot to explain behavior that you think is out of character for them.

9.Changes in appetite under eating or overeating.

Some people with depression shift their feelings on food. Whenever they are stress, they eat. Others say "stress eating".

10.Sleeping for long hours or not being able to sleep.

Some depressed people sleep for long hours as they don't want to do anything and some are not able to sleep cause they are overthinking.

Our mental health are important. We should take good care of it like how we take care of our physical and emotional health.
