Blurry Vision; Meaning, Causes and Prevention
Having a blurry vision was really hard. I can't see things clearly when I didn't wear my glasses. I'm near-sighted actually, it's start during my college days and now my glasses have a grade of 450 each which is really thick lenses. I wrote this article to give knowledge about blurry vision.
Meaning
Blurry vision means that we can see things clearly. It can be on both eyes or not. Some may experience headaches or irritated eyes when your vision is starting to get blurred. It is the lose of sharpness of eyesight, makes the object out of focus and hazy.
Causes
Difficulty focusing your eyesight
This one can be near-sightedness or far-sightedness.Near-sighted (myopia) means that you can clearly see things that are near to you.Far-sighted (hyperopia) means that you can clearly see things that are far.
Astigmatism
It happens when the surface of the eyes isn't curve properly. This one is common and generally treatable.
Presbyopia
When your eyes find it harder to focus as you age. This one is normal as it is part of aging. It is noticeable early to mid 40.
Cataracts
It is the clouding of the normally clear lense of the eye.
Glaucoma
This is the damage on the optic nerve. It's also the leading cause of blindness for people at the age of 60.
Prevention
1.Protect your eyes from UV light, wearing eyeglasses can help.
2.Healthy diet, eat foods with vitamin A like carrots, sweet potatoes and liver.
3.Eye checkup, I usually do this every year to check if my glasses are still good for my vision or it is needed to adjust.
One of the great cause of blurry vision is radiation. For us who always used gadgets like cellphone and computers, we are always faced radiation. Some of us really need to used it for work and school. One effective way to protect our eyes from it is to wear glasses with anti radiation.
In Closing
Our eyes are really important to us. We used this to see the beauty of everything around us and to continue seeing it, we must protect it and take good care of it.
I've had astigmatism since I was young. Plus I have hyperopia.
