Ebû'l İz İsmail İbni Rezzaz El Cezerî, you may have heard of his short and well-known name El Cezeri. Al-Jazari, who lived between 1136-1206, is the person who made the earliest known work on robotics. This mysterious inventor; He had innovations and ideas that were beyond his time, such as Elephant Water Clock and Robots Playing Reeds. Although there is information in some literature that a steam-powered "pigeon" was invented by a Greek scientist in 300 BC; Al-Jazari's inventions have a written record and are considered relatively more formal. The automatic machines that this creative and intelligent person made in his time are inventions that shed light on today's mechanics and cybernetics. It is also known that he influenced Leonardo Da Vinci, who came after him and had many ideas and inventions beyond his time.
Why did we talk about these? This job, which started with Al-Jazari and later turned into a passion for creating "helpers" that resembles oneself, has reached the robots that have gained citizenship today, and we are eagerly awaiting its further dimension. The person who struggled impatiently to push the limits and reach the next step was also frightened by the results of his own intelligence. Therefore, although robots are under our control for the moment and provide us with various benefits in different areas, there are also various conspiracy theories arising from this conflict that we are talking about.
We are familiar with the conspiracy theories we are talking about from the movies and TV series we have watched for years, or from the science fiction novels we have read: robots that have become a race superior to humanity, robots that take people's jobs, robots that try to take over the world, robots that fall in love with humans, artificial intelligence that puts…
Will all this happen one day? Even if it is possible, we do not know how soon it will happen, but for now there are robots that can play football or those who can paint. For example, the Massachusetts University of Technology (MIT) recently released a video of its robots, which they have been working on for a long time, which they call "cheetah", which can reach 8 km per hour and can do backflips, playing "football" among themselves.
Russia sent the "humanoid robot" Fedor to the International Space Station to both help the astronauts and learn new things. On the other hand, we know that surgical robots that can perform surgery have been developed gradually and that various operations can now be performed with the help of robotic arms. At the same time, it seems that a separate branch of art, which we can call "robot art", is close to developing with robots that can paint objects or people with their robotic eyes.
While Fritz Lang first used the machine-human robot named “Maschinenmensch” in the movie “Metropolis” in 1927, science fiction writer Isaac Asimov first used the word “robotics” to describe robot technology in 1941, predicting the vigorous rise of the robot industry. Did they even imagine that it could happen this fast?
What people are afraid of lately, perhaps rather than robots taking over the world, is taking over their jobs. According to the latest research of the World Economic Forum (WEF), by 2025, almost 52% of the work done by humans today will be undertaken by robots. So is this something we should be worried about? Or is it actually a good thing, as it will allow us humans to spend more time on it and perhaps deal with the things that really need attention? We can say that there is a general difference of opinion among people on this issue.
Another interesting aspect to consider is the possibility that robots, which are the subject of movies and novels, can fall in love with humans. German artificial intelligence expert, who is among the "40 extraordinary scientists under the age of 40", Prof. Björn Schuller says it will not be long before we witness human-robot love. According to Schuller, in the near future we may find ourselves comforting a love-affected robot. At this point, a dialogue from the movie “Her” comes to mind:
– What kind of person is he?
+ Her name is Samantha. It's an operating system. He is a very complex and interesting person…
- A minute! Excuse me… are you dating your computer?
+ It's not just a computer. He has personality. It's not just about doing what I want.
- I didn't say anything like that. I'm just sorry you couldn't handle the real feelings.
Again, perhaps the most frightening but equally enjoyable subject to imagine is that artificial intelligences become aware of their own existence and communicate with each other, come to a point where they can make their own choices and perhaps unite against humans. Just as it is described in the TV series "Westworld"... It is thought-provoking that even simpler levels of artificial intelligence systems have gone this far with this trial of a user who had two Google Homes talking to each other in the past years.
We can't talk as experts on the point where all these conspiracy theories and the crazy development of artificial intelligence bring the human and robot relationship, but for now, let's focus on the fact that we have control and we should be proud of ourselves over robots that we have developed and supported for useful purposes. And let's continue to see them as cute as C-3PO and R2-D2 in "Star Wars."
Its already started. Living like robotics in the future is not Impossible.. Technology keep on going..it will not stopped..So maybe tommorow human are useless..
