Effects of Technology on Society

There is no shortage of ways that can radically change the course of humanity. Of course, we can also use cryptocurrency and blockchain if we want, as this will help to connect in the next generation of Internet technology.

Whichever side of the argument it is, it's not really relevant. The fact that we recommend any of these shows how powerful the technology is right now. And each of these areas will only get stronger as we continue to move forward.

The real boom will come when some of them start to come together. That's where the real magic happens. When technologies merge, the power of each is pushed to an exponentially higher level. That's what happened with the introduction of the smartphone. It was 3 technologies (mobile, computer and Internet) combined to completely change the way society works.

Now imagine the impact of each of these separately, and then imagine several of them combined to create another "smartphone" moment.

That's why people who follow technology are so excited about the future. If you think the smartphone is pretty powerful, as they say "you haven't seen anything yet".

Consider what happens when mixed reality is combined with blockchain with artificial intelligence running on quantum systems and interspersed throughout. Just think of the talents it will offer humanity.

As society deteriorates, our entire economic base is changing. Every element, including the government, will be affected. We are already seeing how incapable the government is to deal with the digital world in its current form. The gap will only increase as the law is sadly inept at what is going on.

This will also be seen in the business world. As these technologies enter society, companies currently in leadership positions will perhaps find themselves in decline rather quickly. The carnage created by Amazon is just a preview of what's to come. Imagine this happening in many different industries at the same time.

From a societal perspective, it's safe to say that the internet is the most powerful innovation in the last half-century. Along with the steam engine and electricity, it stands as one of the greatest advances for humanity. We are now close to the point where the internet is as vital as having power.

However, the effect may be small compared to what we see going forward. The power of technology today is at a much higher level than when the internet emerged. The impact on society must therefore be much greater.

The question about all this is which way things will go. Some believe that as corporations replace governments as major centers of power, we may see a push towards even greater tyranny. So those who control technology will be able to control humanity.

Still others think technology can't help but find its way to the masses. Many have disadvantages, but in the long run, development and innovation adapt to problem areas. This is a point where we can find ourselves right now.

One of the largest distributions we see today is in the field of technical talent. It has spread all over the world. People learn to develop from an early age. Due to the expansion of the Internet, most things about it can be learned without formal training. Anyone with some coding skills can start creating very innovative things.

The open source movement has been a mainstay for the past 30 years. This becomes even more important as we deal with more powerful technologies. While most of this list isn't open source or will be available to everyone, it's the process that counts. If we start at the top of the list, we can start to roll out some of the more digital aspects of society, hopefully balancing the megacorporations trying to control everything.

Eventually, this will result in a tremendous financial opportunity. In the next decade we will see trillion-dollar companies being created, many of them. At the same time, we will see many of today's leaders fall out of favor.
