Let's Not Be a Victim of Technology

Due to my work life or social relations, I communicate with about 40-50 people in my daily schedule. Thankfully, the spouse calls, comes and goes. So do I... I call, I go, or we meet and talk in various social environments. What caught my attention, especially after discussing routine issues in recent years, was "What happened to us?" It started with.

What really happened to us!?.. Everyone's faces are sullen and unhappy. We even forgot to smile. People feel lonely. The number of lonely people is increasing rapidly. On the other hand, it is a sad fact that people run away from people.

Mankind is a mysterious being. Versatile and multidimensional... If we accept the fact that "man's loneliness" and "man's escape from man", which I photographed above, are the problems of civilization and the modern world, we will see that their solutions and implementation in life are not that easy.

Problems change according to the era we live in. New ages bring with them new problems. For example, although unemployment, economic distress, traffic, stress, depression and distrust of people are our chronic problems in our country, we have to deal with the brand new problems brought to us by the new age.

Loneliness... Obesity... Human's escaping from humans... Modern life has put these on our shoulders.

We hoped that technological advances would raise our lives to a happier level, whereas “Individual Solitude” offered us. More than being alone, we ran away from each other. We even withhold a greeting. The number of unhappy people in society has increased. City life that is accelerating, living conditions getting harder, daily problems that tire people constantly, bills that must be paid and not kept up, air pollution or the rush to get a job done in a short time...

Another negative effect of urbanization is the rapid flow of time for the individual. Life is expensive and more tiring compared to small settlements. Socialization is very difficult in big cities and people are automatically pushed into loneliness.

It hardly comes to mind, but loneliness has adapted to the times and modernized itself. People have started to think of it as the normal and best way of life. However, loneliness is the cause and the beginning of many mental and physical disorders.

Today's people, as a requirement of the age we live in, have to know, hear, read and watch everything. He is faced with the fact of doing all these alone without communicating with others. He can't find anyone to talk to, to worry about, to share his life with. Living for days, weeks without sharing a conversation environment with anyone makes the human soul sick.

Today, there are so many reasons forcing people to be alone!.. The idea of popularizing individualization is injected into society by certain actors. The mass media offers models that should be taken as an example to the society. Studies should be carried out on the political, sociological and psychological reasons and methods of this initiative. It would be good if people were awakened from their laziness in this matter!..

Just as the degradation of nature, air and water pollution, and tree slaughter threaten our future, the deterioration and rupture of people's natural behaviors and family structure is also a threat to our future. If a person's essence, inner, spiritual values, what he sees from family and society are clean, selfish and humane, that person cannot corrupt nature. He can't even think of it.

Serious, scientific and comprehensive studies should be disseminated and announced in order to prevent the deterioration of the unique and original structure of societies at the global level. Mass media are the most important elements that make up the popular culture understanding, which provides instant satisfaction and happiness that can be easily reached.

In the world we live in, there are many people who prefer to watch television instead of sitting and chatting together as a social need and minimize going out. Today, banking transactions, communication, corporate transactions and even shopping are very easy and at our fingertips with a single click. Although this point seems to make life much easier, it is a fact that it makes people lazy and pushes them to loneliness.

I consider those who choose this life as “Technology Victims”. Technology directly affects daily life, especially with the use of mobile phones and the internet. On the positive side, of course, we cannot blame these innovations that have become an integral part of our daily lives, such as the internet and mobile phones. However, we must learn to use them without breaking away from social unity and people.

Loneliness should not become an indispensable part of modern life by changing its dimensions. No electronic "CLICK" can replace people's mutual relations, one-on-one conversations and meetings. They say, "Man takes the money," which is very true. Try to be with a cheerful friend when you are sad and unhappy. After half an hour of conversation, return and take a look at your inner world; there you will find joy, energy and love.

Without putting an end to my thoughts, I say, let's benefit from technology as much as possible, but let's not be a victim of technology. Let's not forget to be human, stay human, love human.
