For music bands, achieving success with first album is not easy. They may have been formed for many years or even a decade to finally get signed to a major record label. They've been looking forward to release their debut album. Many of them immediately became huge while others take years to reach success.

On the other hand, most pop bands which includes boy bands, girl bands, and mix gender pop groups are being formed by managements. A number of these formed pop groups received success on their debut depending on how their songs achieved success too.

To name some of these music groups and bands which achieve success immediately on their first album, here is my list.

1. Linkin Park

Linkin Park was formed with a different name few years before their debut album. "Hybrid Theory" was released in fourth quarter 2000, and it became an instant hit in rock music scene with the aid of its single "One Step Closer". Despite not reaching the number 1, "Hybrid Theory" became the biggest selling album of 2001 in the US. With "In the End" becoming a sleeper hit, the album became more successful until 2002. Eventually, "Hybrid Theory" reached 12x platinum in America according to RIAA certification, and estimated sales of 27 million, being the biggest selling rock album of 21st century. The album was succeeded by a big selling remix album as well as successful studio albums, making Linkin Park one of the most successful bands of all time.

2. Guns N' Roses

For sure everyone knows Guns N' Roses especially back in the 1980s and 1990s. Their debut album "Appetite for Destruction" became one of the biggest selling rock albums of all time. Sales estimates vary but it likely sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, and was certified by RIAA in the US with 18x platinum. Guns N' Roses continue to achieve success until 1990s. They're also known for the successful two albums released at a time "Use Your Illusion I" and "II". Meanwhile, "Appetite for Destruction" has generated three Billboard top 10 hits too.

3. Spice Girls

Nobody actually expected that girl bands such as Spice Girls become so iconic. With their debut single "Wannabe" became a global hit followed by 3 other UK number 1 hits. Their debut album "Spice" was already a huge hit in 1996 despite being released in October. It also became the number 1 selling album of 1997 in the US, as well as three top 10 hits in the country. Spice Girls became the biggest selling girl group of all time despite the departure of one of its members at the peak of success of their second album "Spiceworld".

4. One Direction

One Direction was formed by Simon Cowell through X-Factor UK. It didn't take long for the group to gain fame. Their first single "What Makes You Beautiful" became a number 1 hit in UK immediately, while it peaked at number 4 in the US. Their first album "Up All Night" has been their first of four consecutive number 1 in America. They became the biggest boyband of their time.

5. Evanescence

Evanescence has achieved success through the hit singles "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal", the latter which has more than 700 million views on YouTube at this time. Both singles has lengthened the success of their first album "Fallen". The album has been said has sold 17 million copies worldwide, and one of the biggest selling albums during its time. The album was succeeded by their album "Open Door" which went to number 1 in Billboard 200, and it includes the top 10 hit "Call Me When You're Sober".
