He looked up at her, unsure what to say as his words failed him.
A solitary tear rolled down his cheek and he struggled to speak, smiling through the tears at the woman he loved so dearly.
All his life, he’d been told he wasn’t good enough, that he should be more, do more.
He did all he could do be the best man he knew how to be, but there were always those that tried to tear him down.
They made him doubt if he was even worthy of being loved..the ugly gets in your head like that sometimes, true or not.
He didn’t know if they felt better for making him feel worse or they had mean hearts, but the way he felt slowly crept into his psyche.
He fought to believe in himself and his worth, but the world tried to tell him otherwise..
Until she came into his life.
She showed him a love he had never known, and made him start to believe..
In himself, in her, in their love.
For so long, he had believed all the bad stuff that the good was almost too hard to believe.
That’s when the beautiful heart of a woman lit up his darkness.
She held his hand as they faced the days and nights, comforted his insecurities and showed him he was more than enough..
In fact, he was amazing.
Her loving patience and kind heart helped his damaged soul finally begin to see the light for the first time, maybe ever.
As she wiped away his tears and pulled his face close to hers, her warm smile comforted him in a way that nothing else could.
She had given him so much more than just love..but she showed him how to love himself..
He’d spent his entire life searching for meaning, longing to find a somewhere
that felt right to him..
And all along, he thought it was a place..
Peering beyond her beautiful eyes into her soul, he finally realized it was never a place..
It was a person..
Her.
She was more than just his soulmate, where he belonged or his partner..
She was home.
