Together Again After 2 Years - Tanay, Rizal
It's been 2 years since my partner and I had a trip. Since the pandemic, all we did were chats, video calls, and eat outs to some nearby restaurants. Health and safety as our priority, we opted to postpone all our plans to travel not until recently.
After 2 years, we decided to go for this trip. Why? Because it's just one of the holidays that I get to spend a long time with my partner. I don't have classes this week (April 11-15) and same with my partner so we decided to go for an overnight trip. I'd like to spend more time with W (my partner) but due to our schedule differences, we cannot. I'm thankful that I had spent April 13-14 with W.
In this article, I will talk about our trip's itinerary because this time, we went to a place we haven't explored yet. We love having adventures and we always thought that it's okay to get lost as long as we have each other. Cheesy as you might think but it is true for us, as long as we're together, getting lost in an unfamiliar place is not that bad. We get to enjoy each other's company plus we get to learn something new about the place. It's not a waste of time.
Anyway, so here's our overnight itinerary, from Makati to Tanay, Rizal.
We decided to go to Bakasyunan Resort and Conference Center. I messaged their messenger to know if there's an available room for 2 pax for April 13-14, luckily there is. I've been messaging some resorts and other airbnb places, unfortunately, they're all fully booked already.
We opted for the Couples Package - Cliffside Room worth Php 3,500, from 1:30pm to 11:30am the next day with Lunch, Dinner, and Breakfast plus 1 hr billiards and 1 hr access to the maze.
We left Makati at exactly 9:30am going to Starmall Van Terminal going to Tanay. We rode the UV Express going to Tanay Public Market for Php 100 each.
It took us 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to Tanay Public Market. When we get off the UV, a lot of tricycle drivers are already persuading us to avail their service. Luckily, we were warned not to choose those who offers private service for it is pricey.
We looked for a nearby convenience store so we can buy some snacks before going to Bakasyunan. Luckily there's one nearby.
While paying for our snacks, the cashier asked us where are we having our picnic. We laughed because we're not having a picnic but it kinda looks like we are because we bought way too many snacks for an overnight trip.
The cashier had warned us not to take the tricycles that offer Php 200 for a trip going to Bakasyunan for the real price is only Php 140 per tricycle.
We followed her advise so we spent only Php 140 pesos going to Bakasyunan from the Tanay Public Market.
The view going to Bakasyunan while riding the tricycle was amazing! Even though the road is a bit of a zigzag, it feels great to see an amazing view. I wasn't able to take a picture of the view though because the tricycle was way too fast but my eyes and memory indeed captured those.
When we entered the Bakasyunan, we were given 3 stubs for the meal and the receipt for the accommodation. We were assigned to go to Cliffside 5. Fortunately, our room is few steps away from the pool!
We head on to the Cliffside room, planned the things we'll do next.
Here's the breakdown of our expenses so far:
Php 3,500 - Cliffside Room, with access to pools, billiard, and maze - with Lunch, Dinner, and Breakfast
Php 334 - Grab going to Shaw Starmall Van Terminal
Php 200 (100 each) - UV Express from Shaw Starmall to Tanay Public Market
Php 438 - Snacks and drinks bought from Super 8 Grocery Store in Tanay
Php 140 - Tricycle from Tanay Public Market to Bakasyunan
Total: Php 4,612
April 16, 2022
Will publish the continuation later on. I miss this place already. It really lives up to its name - Bakasyunan.
