Things you take for granted

Let's talk about this topic because I have thinking about this lately. These are the things that we don't realize how lucky we are to have them. Simple things that we don't realize we are taking for granted.

The air that we breathe

You won't understand that this is so important and we should be thankful for it. A year ago I got really sick I was always grasping for air to breathe but it seems like my body was in need of more oxygen. The doctor decided to put nasal cannula to help me breathe. That's when I realized how lucky I was to be able to breathe air without any medical equipment before. I will never take it for granted anymore.

Walking

Unfortunately, I am disabled and this simple task is very hard for me. Walking around the house and outside is quite impossible without help so be grateful for your perfectly working legs! I cannot go anywhere I want to and there's limit to my mobility. But you, you can do it! Hike that mountain, Clim that tree. Do whatever you want with your feet because you are blessed to have it.

Your body parts

You're eyes, they can see the world, can define beauty and can see light. Blind people only see darkness and nothing else. Lips, they are not deformed and they don't need operation. Ears they are perfect. Your tongue, you can speak and talk your opinions. Be careful of what u you say.

The water 💧

Imagine in a province-like barrios or communities people have to get water from a well or a pump or in the river. They have to carry water to their houses. And us, we just have to turn on the faucet and the water will flow out of it. Some has dirty water and that's sad because while we're having clean water somewhere out there their struggling.

Food on your table

Have you ever said 'I no longer want to eat, I already lost my appetite'? Well, in other places or someone elses situation they would never say no to a food in the table. Eat your food. Don't waste food too.

Roof over your head

Well, some people are on the streets, unsafe and hasno place to stay but you're comfortable on your bed and just laying in it.

Clean clothes

You're lucky you have lots of clothes

Your parents

They have been always around us catering our needs, loving us and taking care of us. While we are busy with our life, we don't really notice that they are already growing old. Their face no longer looks the same when we were just 5 years old.

When was the last time you made your parents feel appreciated? Needed and loved? Have you tell them how much you love them? That you are grateful to have them? Do you spend time holding their hands and talking to them?

This is your reminder to go appreciate your parents because I'm telling you now they are not going to stay with us forever. I know it, I just lost my dad and it hurts me so much that I wasn't able to tell him how lucky I am to be his child. That I'm thankful for the things he did for me. That I appreciated all the strict rules and his protectiveness.
