Today i want to talk about the interesting topic of science. As i am zoologist so i wanna post most about biological topics as i love to write about it.
RHYTHM is Sequence of events that repeat themselves in the same order and with the same time interval over and over again.
BIOLOGICAL RHYTHM is repetition of same activity of an organism in a definite time is called rhythmicity. Rhythmic behavior shown by an organism is known as biorhythms.
CHRONOBIOLOGY is the Study of rhythmicity in behavior of organism related with time.
WHY BIOLOGICAL RHYTHMS NEEDED??
The organisms come across environmental that are cyclic in nature such as days, tides and seasons etc. Many organism maintain internal rhythm or clock to predict the onset of periodic changes and keep them prepared for these changes.For example Oysters open their shells for feeding when tide is in and close them when the tide is out.
CONTROL OF BIOLOGICAL RHYTHM
There may be internal(endogenous) rhythm that progresses the organism.For Example birds migration depends on season.Endogenous rhythm is driven by a biological clock.For example sleep and wake activity of human is under the control of hormone melatonin secreted by pineal gland which is under the control of hypothalamus.There may be direct response to various changes in the external(exogenous) stimuli..
BIORHYTHMS DISORDERS
Sleep disorder: disruption in body natural rhythm can lead to affect sleep, including insomnia. Mood disorder: lack of exposure to sunlight can lead to condition like depression, anxiety. Shift work disorder: when a person work outside the typical work day it causes changes in typical circadian rhythm.
