Kodala Tea Estate, established in 1894, is one of the first and top tea gardens in Bangladesh. This traditional Kodala tea garden is located in Kodala Union, 10 km from Rangunia Sadar Upazila of Chittagong District, which is rich in green hills and natural paradise. Karnafuli, the daughter of Lusai, has spread the sweetness of beauty by the side of the tea garden. The activities of the tea workers, the chirping of birds and the bungalows of the British period seem to be repeating an event from 100 years ago.
Ownership of these tea gardens changed through lease at different times after independence. Most recently, on October 6, 2004, BRAC officially leased the Kodala Tea Garden under the Bangladesh Tea Board under the Ministry of Commerce. At present, Kodala tea garden ranks third among the 162 tea gardens in Bangladesh. Not only tea production, this tea garden has already gained a lot of popularity as a place of interest. Hundreds of tourists flock here every day to admire the beauty of Kodala Tea Garden.
