Mulberry is the scientific name for two species of mulberry, Morus nigra and Morus rubra, respectively. Mulberry leaves are the favorite food of silkworm insects. Although its fruit is juicy and delicious, mulberry is never cultivated for fruit in Bangladesh. However, mulberry is cultivated in Afghanistan, North and South India for its fruits. Mulberry tree is a small type of tree with fallen leaves. The leaves are ovate, crusty, the edges of the leaves are saw-notched and the apex is pointed. Many small fruits together form a fruit, the fruit is berry. Mulberry trees in this country flower a lot in February-March season and fruits ripen in March-April season. The color of the raw fruit is green, but when ripe it becomes bright red and when ripe it turns black. When the raw ripe fruit is in abundance on the tree, it creates a beautiful sight.

In this country new trees are usually made by burying branch cuttings or pruned stalks in winter. However, seedlings can also be made with seeds. Mulberry is mostly cultivated in Rajshahi and Chapainawabganj in Bangladesh.

The reddish black fruit is very juicy, soft, sweet and tasty. Ripe mulberry fruit is useful for relieving constipation. In addition, the sour-sweet juice of ripe fruit is air and bile, anti-inflammatory, expectorant and anti-fever. Mulberry bark and root juice are anthelmintic. Mature reddish black or black fruit species. Their trees are also relatively short. A different species of mulberry is found in the genus Morus alba, the fruits of which are white in color and light pinkish white when ripe. This fruit is not sour, it is very sweet and juicy in taste. This species is mainly cultivated for mulberry fruit. Jams, jellies and squash or drinks can be made from the juice of ripe mulberry fruit.
