Hossaini Dalan or Imambara is a shrine of the Shia community built in memory of Imam Hussein, who was martyred in the desert of Karabala. Located on Nazimuddin Road in Old Dhaka, this installation is about 300 years old. It is estimated that the Hosseini Dalan was built in the 16th century during the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.

Entering through the arches of the Hosseini Building, the bearer of history and heritage, one can see the Shia cemetery, the main building and a huge garden. And there is a lake behind the main building. The National Museum has a silver replica of the Hosseini building.

Every year on the first 10 days of the month of Muharram, on the occasion of the holy Ashura, the Hosseini Dalan festival is celebrated. At that time various programs were organized here. The traditional Taziya procession of Muharram also travels from here.

Schedule of inspection: You can visit Hosseini Dalan every day from 8 am to 10 pm.
