Sajadul Islam, Kurigram Correspondent: Three children drowned in Sonavari river at their aunt's house in Roumari of Kurigram. The incident took place at around 12 noon on Thursday (September 3) at Kolejpara village in Bandaber union of the upazila. Student Siam Ahmed (13) and Hamim Mia (18), son of Abdul Quader of Kawarchar village in Dantbhanga union of the same upazila.

According to local and police sources, the three children went to bathe in the Sonavari river on the west side of Kolejpara village around 12 noon on Thursday. At that time, when Jinnah Khatun went deep into the Dina river, Siam went to pick him up and he also drowned. Hamim Mia also drowned to pick up the two of them. Later the locals rescued their bodies with nets. Those three are their cousins.
