Ranchi

Ranchi is one of the most important cities of Bihar long before the state of Jharkhand was formed. There is a lot to see around Ranchi. Ranchi Hill is in the center of the main city. There is a Shiva temple on this hill. The temple can be seen from almost all parts of the city. A little further from here is the Kanke reservoir. From here water is supplied to the entire city of Ranchi. Next to this reservoir is the ‘Rock Garden’ arranged on a high rocky hill — an outstanding place of recreation.

Lots of people come every day to such secluded places outside the hustle and bustle of the city. Jyotirindranath Tagore of the Tagore family came to Ranchi in 1908. Fascinated by the beauty of the city, he built a house on the secluded Morabadi Hill. The place has been called 'Tagore Hill' ever since. Kanke has India's famous 'Central Institute of Psychiatry'. Apart from the palace, the assembly and even the house of Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni are among the 'A grade' attractions in Ranchi. Birsa Munda Zoo is also on the list of one of the most interesting places to visit in Ranchi.

So much for the inside of the city. When you go to Ranchi, you have to see three waterfalls - all outside the city.

  • Tenth waterfall: This waterfall surrounds the river Kanchi about fifty kilometers away from the city. From a height of 144 feet, the water of Kanchi is jumping in ten streams on the chest of Subarnarekha. ‘Tenth Falls’ is unique with its jungle and hills. A rainbow can be seen in the six rays of the sun in the chest of water. The rural route to travel on the tenth is also excellent.

  • Hudru Falls: 42 km from Ranchi. The Subarnarekha river descends from a height of 320 feet. Here too you can go down a lot of straight-turning stairs to the falls. Betelsud Dam fell on the way. The experience of watching the sunset while standing by the dam is different.

  • • Jonha Falls: Another name for it is Gautam Dhara: Named after Gautam Buddha. The distance from Ranchi is about 40 kilometers. The river-water has come down here in the form of springs by leaning on the hills from many places. About six hundred stairs can be broken to reach the water. The sound of the stream breaks the silence, and in the middle of it is an endless waterfall.

Ghatshila-Galudi

Ghatshila is about 40 km from Jamshedpur. At one time Bengalis used to come to all these places to improve their health. Galudio, 12 km from Ghatshila, is famous for its natural diversity. The Subarnarekha river can be seen from both places. Near Ghatshila station is the house of literary Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay - Gaurikunj. From the station, you can drive to Ottawa at the top of Fuldungri Tiller. Apart from Fuldungri and Subarnarekha Char, the nature reserves of Ghatshila have overflowed in Burudi, another ten kilometers away. Mountains on all four sides, and a magnificent reservoir in the middle.

The lake was born in 1984 when local villages started building dams for agricultural purposes. From the Kashida junction on the side of the national highway, the road bends to the right and rushes towards the crabs of West Midnapore, a little further along. Lake Burudi can be seen before going to Dharagiri Falls through the jungle on the way to the hills. You can't come back without touching the crystal clear waters of Burudi Lake. Dhalbhumgarh, Chandil Dam and Dalma hills can be visited from Ghatshila.

Netarhat

Netarhat, a hill station of Palamur, is famous for its sunrise and sunset. This hill station is called the 'Queen of Chhotanagpur'. Netarhat is about one hundred and fifty kilometers away from Ranchi. You can also come to Netarhat from Betla. However, Netarhat cannot be enjoyed without a night. Magnolia Point is just ten kilometers down from here. At sunset the sun slowly descends from the body of the Vindhya mountain into the valley.

The river Koel can be seen at the bend of the hill. There is also Netarhat Dam. The Upper Ghaghari Falls is six kilometers away. Lower Ghaghari can be trekked from Netarhat. This mountain spring has come down from a height of 320 feet. If you have time, you can visit Anjan village, the birthplace of Hanuman. The 468 feet high Lodh waterfall can also be reached in the impenetrable forest 61 km away from Netarhat.

Hazaribagh

Hazaribagh can be reached from Ranchi or directly by train and road. Natural beauty, pleasant climate and solitude are the resources here. The main place of interest is Hazaribagh National Park, about 18 km from the city. Rich in a variety of flora and fauna, the park has over a dozen observation towers, a Nature Interpretation Center and a herbivore rehabilitation center.

Beautiful water bodies have been created with rivers and dams. He can be a primitive forest. There is a watchtower nearby. Much of the garden is visible from above. Hazaribagh Lake is in the city. It feels so good to walk along its quiet beautiful shores. Boating is also available here. On the opposite side is the Golden Jubilee Garden. There is a small hill called Kanheri Hill about four kilometers away from the city. Konar and Tilaiya dams can be seen around Hazaribagh.

Rajarappa Falls and Chhinnamastar Temple, 32 km from Ramgarh in the middle of Ranchi-Hazaribagh Road, are very attractive to tourists. This is one of the Sati Peetha: Goddess Chhinnamasta here This temple is located on the Tila at the confluence of Bhairabi river and Damodar.

Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur is the heart of the steel industry of the Tatas, one of the leading industrial groups in India. This has ensured the socio-economic condition of the entire city. Jamshedpur is the only city in India with no municipality. Citizen benefits are provided here by Tata Group: JUSCO (Jamshedpur Utility Services Company). Places of interest in Jamshedpur are Dalma Hills, Dimna Lake and Jubilee Gardens.

The nearby Dalma hill is famous for its ‘Damal’ elephants. Dimna Lake is an artificial reservoir built between three small hills at the southern end of Dalma Hills. From here the whole city is supplied with water. Basically rain water is stored in Dimna. Besides, water of Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers is also brought here through canals. The lake is in the northwest corner of the city, a little away from the city. Jubilee Park is located in the center of the city. It was built on the birth centenary of Jamshedji Tata. There is also a zoo.

Deoghar

Deoghar is one of the healthiest places in Jharkhand. When you hear the name, the first thing that comes to mind is Vaidyanatha Dham or Baba Dham and Satsanga Ashram. These two places come to the forefront as the most scenic places in the district. Baba Dham, about 7 km from JCD Junction, is frequented by pilgrims all year round. If you go to Deoghar, you can visit Trikut hill, Nandan hill, Tapoban.
