"This is the Sistine Chapel of the Crystal," said geologist Garcia Ruiz after completing his research at the Cave of the Crystals with his team. This cave is located underground in Chihuahua, Mexico. In the vernacular it is called ‘La Cueva de los Crystals’. Naturally, if you want to see the world's largest crystal mine, this cave can fulfill that hope. The thing is, both entering and exiting this cave is quite difficult and dangerous. That means the cave is pretty awesome!

The location of the Cave of the Crystals;

Discovery

In 1794, an Indian group called the Tarahumara discovered a cave containing silver in Chihuahua. That was Neika Mine at the top of the Cave of the Crystals. Apart from silver, there were many natural mines of gold and zinc. During the Mexican Revolution, a lot of mining was done in this place in a completely natural way. The revolutionaries then need money to continue their movement and greed is in their minds. So various revolutionary groups illegally and forcibly demanded share of the mines from the cave owners.

This led to a conflict between the owner and the revolutionaries, resulting in the death of one. Due to this, extraction from mines was stopped here from 1911-12. The Cave of the Swords was discovered before the closure. The Cave of the Crystals was later discovered on this basis.

The discovery of the Cave of the Crystals is not very old. Just 18 years ago, in April 2000, two brothers named Juan and Pedro Sanchez accidentally found a cave filled with crystals while digging a new tunnel. Juan and Pedro worked for a company called Industrial Penolis. On that occasion, they, along with the rest of the workers, explored the Cave of the Swords mine in Neika Maine. While the others were busy, the two brothers found a huge collection of precious crystals. Shortly after the discovery, they informed Roberto Gonzalez, the engineer in charge of Neika Mine. Realizing the importance of the discovery, Roberto immediately stopped working.

Cave of the Crystals;

Yet the natural resources of the cave are somewhat damaged. Because many workers could not control their greed by seeing such expensive and attractive things. So random giant crystals try to force their way out of the cave wall and floor and break. Due to this the natural resources of the cave are damaged. The Penolis Industry later installed iron gates at the entrance of the cave, so that no damage to the property would occur.

However, a worker entered the cave again a few days later with the intention of stealing. But he died there due to lack of oxygen and his body was found almost cooked due to the high temperature in the cave. According to an eyewitness, the body of the worker looked as if some food had been prepared in the oven.

Almost equal to a basketball court

The Cave of the Crystals is a cavalry cave surrounded by limestone, 90 feet long and 30 feet wide. Its entire floor is made of crystal. Its bright white color makes it even more attractive. "There is no place in the world where the mining world has expressed itself so beautifully," said geologist Garcia Ruiz.

History

Nine hundred feet below the Neica Cave is the white stone Mexican desert. The white stones or crystals are actually selenite or calcium sulphate. The crystalline selenite of gypsum got its name from the Greek goddess Selenite of the moon. The name of these crystals is due to its attractive color and various mythological beliefs.

Gypsum crystals;

The crystals are somewhat unusual not only for their size but also for their pure structure. The Neiker cave once had a stream of hot brackish water, which unfortunately closed in 1985 due to frequent collection. Scientists are now examining these stones and trying to understand their true age and structure more accurately.

The cave is thought to have been built about five million years ago. There was a flow of magma about 2-3 miles (3-5 kilometers) below the ground. When groundwater begins to mix with the magma of these caves, these interactions are mainly due to the formation of these crystals. In fact, the groundwater in that place contained a lot of gypsum, which reacted with magma heat and formed transparent selenite crystals.

Selenite obtained from the cave;

Since the cave is located above the magma stream, which comes from the center of the earth's crust, naturally the temperature there is very high. In fact, no matter how well prepared you are, it is not possible for a person to stay in the cave for more than a few minutes.

The Cave of the Crystals is divided into several chambers. Its main room temperature is recorded at 150 degrees Fahrenheit or 65.6 degrees Celsius. Other parts typically have a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or 37.8 degrees Celsius. More troubling is the fact that the humidity is almost 100 percent. In other words, the thing is, salt on the thorns. It is unusually hot, with a very waterless environment. In such a situation, it is the same thing not to take any proper preparation in that cave and to accept death with one's own hands.

How to enter

Special clothing for entry;

When entering here you must wear a special garment to keep your body cool. The inside of the garment is basically filled with a special kind of cold packet and comes with a small bag. It has a device that allows the caveman to breathe in this hot weather. Also wear helmets, special flashlights, rubber shoes and gloves. But even after so much, no man can stay here for more than 45 minutes.

The body becomes dehydrated due to high temperature and excessive humidity. When a person enters a cave, he wants to absorb the environmental water from his body. Therefore, the work of the body and the brain is disrupted. As a result, it is difficult to walk on the slippery roads of this cave or to escape from the hands of big sharp crystals.

Slippery and dangerous roads of the cave;

With proper preparation, a tourist must fix the truck to get to the cave with the help of the authorities in charge. The truck will take him through the main mining tunnel Rampa San Francisco. The tunnel is about half a mile long. At its end is the iron door, through which one can enter the Cave of the Crystals. As you go through the tunnel, the temperature gradually rises and the women's appearance begins to look brighter. Another interesting fact is that the main ingredient in the crystals, selenite, was powdered by aristocratic women about a thousand years ago.

We are very happy to see a small piece of shiny white stone. Surprised to see its flashes and bright colors. Needless to say, the Cave of the Crystals succeeds in surprising everyone.
