There is a saying in China, 'He who has not touched the Great Wall of China is not a man.' And so when I went to China, I had to go to the Great Wall to prove my manhood. Of course, the program I went to at Tsinghua University had the Great Wall tour on their schedule. The 'Experiencing China' program and the organizers will not show the Great Wall! Otherwise, much of China's experience will remain.

The Great Wall of China is the largest man-made structure in the world. The Great Wall of China is a part of the world heritage and is also called the national symbol of China. And so this great wall is considered as one of the seventh wonders of the world. In Chinese, the Great Wall is called Changchang. The literal meaning of this chhangchang is long walls.

Many people do not know why the Great Wall of China was built, but many people are surprised to know. But for that, we have to go back to many old chapters of Chinese history. Why do we put walls next to the house? The simple answer is that no one else can rush into our house. Just as we build walls around our homes for our own safety, this Great Wall was built for China's security, to protect China from Mongol bandits.

The Great Wall stands on the chest of China with a thousand years of history;

The construction of this Great Wall began before the birth of Jesus Christ. Construction of the Great Wall began in the seventh century BCE, some 2,800 years ago. But it collapsed one day. Then at different times different kings built different parts of this wall. However, the longest part of the wall was built by Emperor Xi Huang of China in 220-206 BC. And through the construction of this great wall, China was largely saved from the Mongols' 2,000-year-old plunder and attack by the Mongols. Of course, one of the purposes of building this wall was not only to escape from the Mongol enemy, but also to maintain security and control in the border areas. The length of this wall is 21,196 km which surrounds almost the whole of China.

The 15-day program was scheduled to take place on a Saturday at the Great Wall. The day before, the authorities and volunteers told us to carry an umbrella, thin clothes and strong sneakers. Because there is a long way to go up the stairs. Then you can see the Great Wall. On Saturday morning, more than 300 participants from different countries started their journey in groups for the Great Wall. After traveling for a while by bus, we reached the destination. On the way to the bus, the tour guide scheduled for each bus and group started to tell us more unknown information about the Great Wall.

This Great Wall of China is one of the seven wonders of the world. I was thrilled to think that I was going to climb this Great Wall as a child of general knowledge. The Great Wall has several points to climb, as it covers most of China. From the point we climbed, we had to climb a thousand steps to reach the Great Wall. Of course, there is also a cable car for those who do not want to climb the stairs. But for that you have to pay extra 120 yen, which is about 1500 rupees in Bangladeshi currency. With a kind of insistence, I decided to climb the Great Wall without climbing the cable car. Since touching this Great Wall is seen as a symbol of masculinity, I decided to climb more stairs to prove my masculinity.

But the danger was in the middle. In this way we crossed the steep stairs and got tired. But the European young women are climbing the stairs laughing by our side. And we're taking a deep breath, he's a big shame! That day I realized how much lack of stamina of Veto Bengali! Anyway, at least I didn't go down without explaining myself first. That moment was awesome. I forgot all the trouble by setting foot on the Great Wall. The beauty of the Great Wall changes with the change of seasons. The Great Wall decorates itself differently depending on the season. In winter, snow falls on some parts of the Great Wall. But we did not have the good fortune to see it because it was summer.

Great Wall in a different form in winter;

The Great Wall of China was built of stone and wood frames with clay and terracotta bricks. The tools of that era were shovels, spades, small spades, hammers, batali, chisels. I could not imagine how impossible it was to build this wall with stones and bricks on the hill with those tools. Of course, many workers lost their lives in this impossible task, their names are not written anywhere in history.

This Great Wall of China is imagined with a huge dragon. It extends from Shanghaiquan in the east to Toplake in the west. In the beginning, the Great Wall was given the shape of a dragon's head and at the end, it was given the shape of a tail. Not only over the mountains, but also through the nomadic steppes, deserts and rivers of Mongolia. This wall has gone like a bridge over the river. And the dragon's tail went down into the sea water.

The Great Wall extending across the heart of China;

The Great Wall occasionally houses some huts. And there is the Watch Tower. Soldiers hid in these huts. And the movement of enemies from the Watch Tower was closely watched. We had a Mongolian boy with us. His face had been pale ever since he climbed the Great Wall. Maybe that's what he thought, the wall he was standing on was built to protect him from his predecessors. And so everyone wanted to hide themselves a little while discussing the history of the Great Wall. As more than 300 young people from all over the world walked through the heart of our program on the Great Wall, I felt like a true world citizen. It seemed like the world was so small. We ourselves have made it much bigger by enclosing it with cut wire fences at the border.

Great Wall with red and green flags in hand

A total of 6 representatives of Bangladesh were in this program. I tied the team and took a picture of the red and green flag. It seemed like a piece of Bangladesh on the chest of the Great Wall. Many people were standing on the chest of the Great Wall and taking pictures with the red-green flag. Many people came and wanted to know a lot about Bangladesh. Interestingly, the T-shirt of our program was also made in Bangladesh. So whenever I went to talk about Bangladesh, I would ask to see the tag 'Made in Bangladesh' on my t-shirt. Many people would be really surprised to see the 'Made in Bangladesh' tag by flipping the T-shirt and our chests would be filled with pride.

Standing on the chest of the huge Great Wall, I felt very small. Loneliness was filling itself. At the same time, I was getting lost in the pages of history, sometimes with my hands on the thousand-year-old brick of the Great Wall. Great Wall did not want to say goodbye. He had to say goodbye against his will that day.

There was a long way to go down that steep staircase again. The way down was very slippery and dangerous. So I had to take a very careful time to get down from the Great Wall. There are already blisters on the legs. I didn't even think about how far I had come and gone. Then only joy in the mind, the joy of winning the Great Wall! The joy of seeing a touch of the Seven Wonders of the Earth. This joy forgot all the hard work and hardships of the path.
