Nepal, the daughter of the Himalayas, is a land of unparalleled beauty of nature. It is as if nature has decorated the country with its two hands. Nepal is the favorite place of any tourist who is addicted to the colors of the high mountains, the frosty air and the rural environment.

One of the main attractions of Nepal is the mountainous Sarankot. The region is located in Pokhara, the second largest city in the country. Pokhara is about 203 km from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. All the scenic views on both sides of the road from Kathmandu to Pokhara. The white clouds of the blue sky, the green pine forest, the anagona of migratory birds in the chest of the dense blue sky - all these are enough to dazzle any tourist. The journey will be accompanied by cloudy green forest and Trishul river. Mountains and hills all around. How many birds do not know how to go down to hear the words of the forest. Nepal is such a beautiful country.

Cheris is a small town on the banks of the river Trishul on the way to Pokhara. The distance from Cherry to Pokhara is 94 km. Pokhara, another scenic city of the Himalayas, welcomes tourists by crossing the dense green Trishul River and winding mountain roads flowing through the heart of the hills. The city of Pokhara is located on a hillside. Fewa Lake flows by the side. Pokhara is a wonderful city between the mountains and the lake.

Pokhara Valley;

Wherever the eye goes, there is only green ceremony. Sometimes there are many small and big hills. This mountain valley is surrounded by seven or eight lakes. There is a handful of famous snow-capped peaks. Nepal has eight out of ten peaks in the world. That is why tourists come to Nepal again and again throughout the year. From here you can see the Himalayan peaks. The beauty of Pokhara Valley is like a picture painted in a picture. In the moonlight the whole valley takes on an unearthly form. Breaking all the silence, the whole valley seems to be in a game of magical light.

Several peaks can be seen from the Pokhara Valley;

The main tourist attraction in Pokhara is Sarankot. This is a mountain peak. It is located northwest of Pokhara. The place is one of the major tourist destinations. From here you can see the most beautiful sunrise in the world. No visitor to Pokhara can resist the urge to see the first sunrise in Sarankot. This place is crowded with tourists long before sunrise. From Pokhara, it is possible to cross the winding mountain path in 30 minutes and reach Lower Sarankot. Then you have to trek about 3 km in the heart of nature to Upper Sarankot.

Watching the sunrise from the view point of Sarankot is a unique experience;

At this time, several small villages will be seen on the hilly road. You have to cross the last steep climb to reach the viewpoint of Upper Sarankot. At an altitude of 1,595 meters, everyone is waiting for that Mahendrakshan on the vast canvas of nature, enduring the force of the bone-chilling Himel wind. All the tourists are eagerly waiting to see the moment of sunrise. Every ray of the morning sun is falling on the body of the five peaks of Annapurna. Before the sun peeks out, the orange, yellow and white Annapurna begins to turn red. Fish tail can be seen from here. Seeing such a sunrise in the lap of the Himalayas is a unique experience for travelers.

Pokhara Valley is kneeling at the feet. The whole of Sarankot is bright and smiling in the light of the sun. If the weather is favorable, Sarankot offers excellent views of Fish Tail, Dhulagiri, Ganesh, Manaslu and the highest peaks of Annapurna. In the colorful light of the sun, everyone became a silent spectator in the game of color change of the horns. If you have time, don't miss the World Pitch Pagoda at the top of the hill.

World Pitch Pagoda;

Sarankot is a popular paragliding launching point. Paragliders fly from one end of the sky to the other, with huge wings of various colors. The entire Pokhara Valley can be seen while paragliding and flying over Fewa Lake. There are eight impeccable lakes in Pokhara. Fewa Lake, Begnas Lake is one of them. There are three museums and a few unique ancient caves.

Many come to Pokhara for paragliding;

Fewa is the second largest lake in Nepal and the largest in the Pokhara Valley. The lake is located at an altitude of 742 m above sea level south of Pokhara. It covers an area of about 5.23 sq km. The main attraction for foreign tourists is Fewa Lake. The scenery on both sides of the lake is quite enjoyable by colorful boats or boats.

An additional attraction of Pokhara Valley is Fewa Lake;

Annapurna in the water of the lake, accompanied by the reflection of the fish tail can be visited from the Varaha temple located in the middle of the lake. Built in the 18th century, the deity of this temple is Lord Vishnu in the form of a pig. By boat, one can reach the shores of Chepang Lake by going around Fewa Lake, passing through the northern Sarankot and Kaskikot hills. A picture postcard reflects the presence of the six Himalayan peaks in the lake water. Sitting on the shores of the lake, watching the sunset behind the mountains will be a wonderful memory for every traveler for a lifetime.

The boundless beauty of Fewa Lake at sunset;

Begnas Lake is another popular lake in Pokhara after Fewa Lake. It is the second largest of the eight lakes in the Pokhara Valley. It covers an area of 3.28 sq km. The depth of the lake is about 10 meters. The lake is one of the favorite places of tourists. Many domestic and foreign tourists meet here. The clear waters of the lake, the greenery and the serene, secluded surroundings fascinate many. Those who are addicted to sailing with their loved ones or those who are addicted to fishing can also buy tickets and sit on the shores of the lake.

On the shores of Lake Begnas;

Another attraction of Pokhara Valley is Mahendra Cave. The cave is named after Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. The inner courtyard of the 60 meter long cave is quite thrilling. The natural tunnel built inside the cave is used to get out of the cave. The tunnel has artificial lighting. The rocks inside the cave are made of different types of rocks and flint. When the light of the sun falls, the light falls on different stones and the inside of the cave begins to sparkle.

Mahendra Cave;

Fish tail from Mahendra Cave and milky white from the Annapurna glacier can be seen in the white, white swift river Shweti. Next to Mahendra Cave is another cave Bat Cave or Badur Cave. Although the entrance is narrow, the inside of the cave is wide enough. This cave is home to thousands of different species of bats.

Pokhara is famous for its waterfalls. There are several waterfalls here. Davis Falls is one of them. The water of this impeccable waterfall has merged into Fewa Lake. As soon as you go near the waterfall, you will see the Duronto White River again. To the locals, Davis Falls is better known as Pataldang. Surrounded by railings, Davis Falls is a 500-year-old Gupteswar Mahadev cave. The spiral staircase went down to a depth of about 100 meters.

The uniquely beautiful Davis Falls;

Another attraction of Pokhara is the International Mountain Museum. A wonderful and informative museum. Here you can explore the past and present of mountaineering in Nepal, Japan, Slovakia and other countries. You can know the story of various mountaineers. There is also a 3D model of Mount Everest.

Inside the International Mountain Museum;

Apart from Everest, other information about other Himalayan mountains can be found in this museum. Replicas of the materials that mountaineers used to conquer the world's highest peaks decades ago are housed in museums.

Pokhara's side scene is also worth seeing. A very tidy city. The side of the old city of Pokhara has yet to come out of that ancient wrapper. Wood carvings, bricks hold the old history with wood. The craftsmanship of the 200-year-old two-storey Bhimsen temple will fascinate anyone. Pokhara full of great beauty and little known Sarankot is really amazing.
