Armenia is one of the most attractive countries in the world. Although the country is not very big in size, it has a glorious history. The beauty of Armenia, a green land of nature, is as rich as its history and cultural heritage. This small country of 11,480 square miles has gone through many ups and downs, preserving almost 3,000 years of ancient culture, language and historical monuments. The country is bordered by Georgia to the north, Iran to the south, Azerbaijan to the east and Turkey to the west. The total population of the country is about 29,34,252.
Armenia is surrounded by several powerful countries. As a result, the country has been repeatedly attacked by external enemies. The country has changed hands between Roman, Byzantine, Arab, Turkish, Persian, Mongol, Georgia and Russia. The western part of the country has long been occupied by the Ottoman Empire. At that time the Turks carried out indiscriminate genocide against the Armenians. They took refuge in different parts of the world to defend themselves from this horrific genocide. And in this way Armenians settled in different countries of the world.
Many tourists from different parts of the world visit Armenia every year to see the ancient culture and civilization of the world. There is so much to see in the country. This country is also famous for its natural beauty. Scattered around it are several dead volcanic peaks of the old days. As you walk through the different cities of the country, you will see only greenery. Rows of juniper trees can be seen on every street. And you will see a lot of green covered parks. Besides, there are numerous art galleries, museums, music halls and theater halls in different parts of the country.
Yerevan
The capital of Armenia is Yerevan. It is a historic city in Armenia. Getting to know this city better gives you an idea of the whole country. A visit to the Armenian Genocide Memorial in the city center reveals the history of a bloody struggle for the survival of a nation. As you walk along the city's main Abovian Street, various images of ancient Armenian culture become visible. Nearby is Republican Square. An open courtyard paved over a vast area.
A memorial was erected here to commemorate the victory of the Soviet Union in World War II. On the other side of the monument stands the Art Museum, History Museum, a music hall and the Rashtrapati Bhavan. On the other hand, highways and water fountains. There are small and big cafes and restaurants along the way. The city is also known to many as the Cafe of the City. The Blue Mosque, the only mosque in the country, is located in this city.
Cascade
Another attraction in the Armenian city of Yerevan is Cascade, a picturesque amusement park. Flower garden, footpath on both sides. Bench leaves along the path. All the spectacular water fountains are enhancing the beauty of the garden. The garden is adorned with various beautiful sculptures. The garden is decorated with sculptures, stone statues, calligraphy of various animals made of small pieces of brass or copper. All around is a combination of abstract art. The park is always full of people of all kinds, big and small.
Mother Armenia War Memorial
After Armenia gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1992, reconstruction work began in the country. A monument was erected in his memory. A stone statue of a woman holding a sword is placed on a very high altar. The monument is built in such a way that it can be seen from anywhere in the city. On the altar of the monument is written in Russian alphabet 'Myr Ayastan', meaning Mother Armenia War Memorial.
Esmidjin
Armenia was the first country in history to declare Christianity the state religion. Ninety percent of the population is Christian. Esmeadjin is a holy place of worship for Christians, as well as a place of interest. The place is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The place is very sacred to Christians. Priests from Christian missionaries from different countries come here to study. Locals have set up shop stalls for tourists outside the church. Inside the church is a historical museum, where various relics associated with Jesus are preserved.
Matenadaran Museum
The word ‘matenadaran’ in the Armenian language means archive. Its real name is ‘Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts’. One of the largest collections of ancient manuscripts in the world. Such collections are very rare in the world. The archive contains more than 23,000 manuscripts in 2,000 languages and a remarkable collection of 30,000 documents.
Ancient Gospel manuscripts are preserved in the Matenadaran Archive. Here we show the evolution of the Armenian language from its origin to modern times. There is a beautiful architecture next to the museum.
Dilijan National Park
It is one of the four scenic national parks of Armenia. In 2002, the park was recognized as the national park of the country. This park is famous for its natural mineral springs. A cultural zone has been created around this vast park. There are several ancient churches and monasteries. Haghharsin Monastery, Goshavak Monastery, Matosvank Monastery next to it, Akhnabat Church etc. are notable.
Lake Seven
Lake Seven is the lifeblood of Armenia. The largest lake in the Caucasus Mountains, it occupies about five percent of the total area of Armenia. There are several spectacular churches scattered around it. Located at the top of the hill, Sevenavank Church is a major tourist attraction. The narrow path paved with stones has risen upwards step by step. Row upon row of visitors entered the church to get a glimpse of Jesus. It's like seeing the natural scenery around the church.

This lake is surrounded by innumerable small and big hills. Many tourists take refuge in the foothills of a nearby mountain to see the beautiful scenery around them. Again, someone is intoxicated with trekking to climb the mountains. Lake fish is served in some of the restaurants built near the hill. There are souvenir and photo shops along the road in the hills.
Temple of Garni
The Temple of Garni, located in the village of Garni in Armenia, stands as a reminder of a tolerant and peaceful location of many religions and cultures. The ruins of the temple continue to bear the signature of the pre-Christian era of Amherst. According to history, the temple was built in the first century. Its real name is Mir God of Sun. The temple is not that big. The small stairs went up to a very high place. Standing on a strong pillar, the temple is a unique example of ancient architecture.
Gimri
Gimri is the second largest city in Armenia. It is one of the most important cultural centers of Armenia. Here are the Ditogachian Museum on Social Life, the National Architecture of Gymnastics, the Sergei Merkurov House-Museum, the Aslamjian Sister's House-Museum, and more. This is where the ancient historical city of Kumeri is located. Many ancient historical installations can be seen here.
Shikhagh Stay Reserve Forest
Shikhagh is known as the second largest reserve forest in Armenia. In 2005, a wildlife sanctuary was set up around the area. There are more than 1,100 species of trees. Apart from leopards, deer, bears and wild goats, a wide variety of birds can be seen among the animals. There are also several natural springs. The scenic beauty of the surroundings makes the tourists forget the trouble of coming here.
