Have you ever watched a funny cartoon called 'Penguins of Madagascar' ?!It is super funny film about different animals who possess humans characteristics. I like the most king Juliard 's role who believe he is a real king and the penguins are his servants. I started watching cartoon together with my kids, and we enjoy watching it together.I recommend you to watch it.

I would like to share some interesting facts about Madagascar. I am always totally impressed by this island. I hoe one day I could visit it because I am real lover of nature and interesting places worldwide.

I have many magazines of national geographic for kids or adults and I am always impressed to read about Madagascar. It is unlike any other island in the world. It is located in the Indian Ocean just off the southeastern coast of Africa. It is one of the most interesting places on Earth because of its history, diversity, and culture.

Diversity

Madagascar is unique for many things,it is known that ninety percent of Madagascar’s wildlife cannot be found anywhere else on Earth. In fact, its plants and animals are so unique that some people call it the “eighth continent” of the world. My favourite animals, lemurs, for example, are found wild only in Madagascar.

Almost all of the 100 living species of lemur are classified as rare, vulnerable, or endangered. The giant lemur,an unique spaces became extinct within the last century.Several plant species in Madagascar are used as herbal remedies. for important medical issues.Drugs to treat Hodgkin’sdisease, leukemia, and other cancers are made from the Madagascar periwinkle.

The national sport is considered rugby, but football is also very popular one. One traditional pastime is moraingy. This type of hand-to-hand combat consists of fighters battling with no weapons or body protection. Another popular tradition is tolonomby, the wrestling of zebu cattle that is similar to a Western rodeo. The wrestler runs into the center of the pen, catches the zebu (“omby”) by the hump, and tries to pull it to the ground.

The official languages of the Republic of Madagascar are Malagasy and French. Foods eaten in Madagascar are influenced by Southeast Asian, African, Indian, Chinese, and European cultures.Common meat is Zebu (African cow) . Rice flavored with garlic, onions, ginger, tomatoes, curry, coconut milk, vanilla, and cloves is popular dish too. Madagascar is one of the world’s main suppliers of vanilla, cloves, coffee, and shrimp.

Unfortunatelly it is one of the poorest countries in the world. About 70 percent of the population lives below the national poverty line of $1 per day.
