In case you missed it this weekend, or you saw it and couldn't understand what it meant, Italian Seria A players this weekend marked their faces red like the NFL football pattern. This act was to raise awareness in the campaign against domestic violence against women. Both referee and the players had what appears to be some red ink smeared across their cheeks, which Italian Humanitarian organization WeWorld says is a sigil for movement.
One of such notable players to wear the symbol is Swedish International striker Zlatan Ibrahimovich who scored an incredible long-range header to give his team a lift-off for their victory against fierce opponents Napoli. The 39-year-old renowned striker has so far scored 9 goals this season for the Italian champions and looks in no hurry to slow down on his current amazing form.
