Usually, when people hear about meditation, they think it's all about relaxing after a long day at work and relieving pent-up stress or anxiety. While this is true, meditation is used for more than just letting go of negative emotions. Meditation can be used to invite positive vibrations into your life which as a result, gives you the ability to live the life you truly desire in the real world.

Meditation using the Law of Attraction

For those unfamiliar with LOA, it's basically a universal principle that states "Energy you put out is energy you get back." Why is this so important? Well, if you have a negative mindset, chances are that you will attract more negativity into your life. you are what you attract. Meditation helps you focus on creating a positive mindset and raises the vibration so that you can easily manifest whatever you want in life. Even if your dream seems unrealistic, stick to it and meditate on it and it will come true.

Helping to utilize ourselves higher

Relaxation is very important when you meditate because it allows you to enter a higher self or what is known as self-intuition. Your higher self is the subconscious mind and our subconscious holds information that our conscious mind does not know. The subconscious mind makes up about 95% of your brain and is always awake, ready to receive new information.

Once you can tap into that part of the brain, you'll develop a wealth of emotions, unhealed wounds, new-found possibilities, motivation, and creativity, all while strengthening your intuition. Harnessing your higher self and doing shadow work, aka confronting your inner demon, is one of the best and most fulfilling things you can do for the soul as it heals yourself from the inside out and attracts more into your life.

Changing perspective on life

Meditation helps you visualize the life you want to live, which helps change the way you think about current reality. From my personal experience, meditation helps me to always look on the bright side. At one point in my life, I was stuck in a very dark place and there was a lot of stagnant energy around me. I didn't know what step to take next and I just felt like I was falling deeper and deeper into such a pitiful and pathetic wormhole that I couldn't pull myself up. Meditation helps me see things from a different perspective. My situation isn't as bad as it seems, I'm only looking at it from one perspective.

Once you can see things from a higher perspective, you will look at the bigger picture and find out why things are the way they are and how this horrific experience shaped you as a person. Realizing that things really happen for a reason is honestly a huge relief because you won't feel like you have to force things into place anymore. You will only calmly let things happen with the help of the right timing.

Extends attention span and teaches patience

If you have ever actually tried meditation, you will know that it is not easy to sit in one place for more than 3 minutes and have a clear mind. When I first started meditating, I couldn't clear my mind for life. I'll take a deep breath and then 2 seconds later, I'm itching somewhere or I'm going to think about what to eat for dinner. The more you practice meditation, the easier it will be to have a clear mind, however, to this day my mind still tends to be wild and completely normal. One tip I've learned is to listen to distracting thoughts and release them into meditation with each deep breath you take.

Meditation also teaches you how to ignore distractions. Once you're finally in that meditative state, it's as if you've been detached from your body which sounds scary, but it's actually quite a liberating feeling. You will not notice outside noises or itching and twitching of the body. You will only live in the mind imagining your ideal reality.

Improve health

It has been proven that meditation can help reduce stress, anxiety, lower blood pressure, and many other health benefits. If you are suffering from any kind of pain, try meditating to reduce the pain. If you have periods and cramps, meditate! Once in deep self-awareness, the pain really just goes away. I'm not saying meditation will cure illness or erase pain forever, but at least it can help ease the pain and distress you are experiencing.
