You can be experiencing the worst day, the worst mood swing and the worst temper, but when you pray you start to feel better and lighter. And that is the real blessing when you turn to God. He changes your heart first before changing the situation you are currently in. Maybe that is the reason why HE teaches us to pray without ceasing and in all things we must give thanks.
