"Motherhood: all love begins and ends there." - Robert Browning

Being a mother is a choice and it is a big responsibility to hold. But it is also one of the most fulfilling and life-changing experiences that can happen to a woman. It is most women's dream to become a mother, to bear a child and have a family. But what is really the best age to have a baby? Is it early 20s or early 30s?

In these two debatable answers, I believe it is best to have a baby in early 20s. It is considered to be one of the healthiest periods of time to get pregnant. It has something to do with fertility because a woman in her 20s is on peak of her fertility. They will have a higher chance of conceiving in the process of trying naturally. A woman's eggs likely start to decrease gradually at early 30s and it would pose greater risks for pregnancy complications. Women also have the most energy when they are in their 20s, this will come in handy for looking and running behind a toddler. At early 20s, women have a lower chance of having miscarriage, chromosomal disorders, gestational diabetes, blood pressure and are more likely to be fitter and healthier. There is also low risk of having premature birth and developing complications. People who get pregnant in their early 20s are also less likely to get stressed once the child is all grown up.

Another benefit of pregnancy in early 20s is that people are still relatively healthy at this age. They can be more active in exercising and staying fit and it will help them to be more comfortable in their pregnancy. It will also eliminate some common aches and pains. Women who are active have fewer reports of backaches and unwellness during pregnancy. The benefits also last even after giving birth. When it comes to genetic issues, having a baby in 20s means that women have less risk of having a baby with Down syndrome. A woman in her 20s has a risk of about one in two thousand, compared to a woman at 30 whose risk is at one in nine hundred.

Statistically, a healthy, fertile woman in 20s has about a 30 percent chance of getting pregnant each cycle they have intercourse a day or two before ovulation. At age 30, the chance is about 20 percent each cycle. In addition, only a small percentage of 20-year-old women struggle with infertility while two-thirds of women in their 40s have infertility problems. The chance of a 20-year-old woman being unable to conceive is only 6 percent while older women have 64.

The decision to have a baby requires time, effort, and commitment. There are several factors to consider before having a baby. But the best age to have a baby is the age when you are ready: financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Health-wise, and time-wise, the best time is in early 20s. It is healthy both for the mother and the baby. Parenting is not easy, both the mother and the father must be ready for the responsibilities of having a child. But there the simplest yet the most important requirement for this matter: love.

Hi! This is another position paper we were tasked to do for a subject. Hope you find this meaningful as I did writing this. :)

If I were to be asked personally, I would say the best age is mid 20s because like I said there are many factors you need to consider first. Not only you needs to be ready but also your partner. But we were only allowed to choose between early 20s and early 30s; hence my answer.

You may comment and also share with me your thoughts regarding this topic. :)

Thanks for reading. ❤️

True that the best time to have a baby is at early 20. You will have more than enough energy to juggle work, chores, the baby, and the hubby (yup, they tend to get jealous over a baby). At early 30, complications during pregnancy is apparent. Also a woman's energy is not at par when she was at her 20s.

So there, from someone who got pregnant on both ages.

Ito na lang binasa ko, hindi ko kaya ang horror hahaha.
