Dear Church,
We tend to be religious with our pain. We will hide it for people not to see it. Sometimes it's because we are aware of the many people who secretly wait for your downfall. So you will brave through it.
Sometimes it's because you just don't want to be a bother! So again you will master the art of plastic.
Plastic laughs
Plastic smiles
Plastic look
But the thing about plastic is that its only pretty while new. As the days go on, there is the dire need for a change!
So when you are in the line of plasticity, you will unwillingly find yourself having to change time and again to look new. You will have a change of "character" every so often until we really can't keep up!
Friends will think you have Multiple Personality Disorder and that you need help.
Enemies will say you have demons and need deliverance.
People will judge you.
And just maybe, people have judged you!
They just don't understand how much strength it takes to hide away pain! Let me tell you... IT IS VERY HARD!
Sometimes this pain will seep through the windows of your soul begging to be known! That's where you see tears.. Hot, sharp tears that you can't hold back!
The worst part is where when you become so religious with your pain, you try to hide it from God!
What is being religious with pain?
It is having some meaningless traditions about dealing with pain that really adds no spiritual value!
Because pain will always be pain! Even Jesus felt pain on that cross and cried! Don't you dare think that his body was numbed to the reality of the crucifixion! He felt every inch of that nail! He felt the thorns too... And he felt the whips!
Emotionally, he felt the curses of the people... It is hard to be rejected by your heartbeat... The person you love with all your heart!
Now imagine being rejected by your baby? A baby who grew inside of you! But with Christ, he felt it more... Because His loves goes deeper than our human based emotions are able to feel... They can't comprehend that level of love... If I have to describe it... Maybe... Downright madness!
That is what it must feel like... And way worse... So he must have really felt it...
But! He didn't hide it! He cried... Yes, they mocked... But he cried.
It wasn't a sign of weakness! No! Not at all! On the contrary, it was a sign of strength... He called his father. Not to come as fire as Elijah had prayed... And He was the greater than Elijah! He did not call for rain, that would sweep away the earth as in the days of Noah... And He had the power to!
He sought forgiveness.. And not for himself... But for a people who had badly bruised him! Amidst the cry, he loved.
You will be unable to love if you mask the pain you feel. Masked pain numbs your feelings. But God intends that you feel every bit of life and whatever he takes you through. He created the emotions so he can connect with you.
You need to feel the pain
You need to feel the love
You need to feel the joy
You need to feel the sadness...
He has a purpose with all these feelings.
The more you feel, the more He can use them to mould you to be who intended you to be.
So unmask your pain!
Feel the pain and the joy and His love
Tell him about about what you feel. Don't be afraid to cry even when people mock you...
Crying is not a sign of weakness
He will heal the pain, but will have already used it to teach you and mould you to take the shape He desires to see in you.
