They were dating. They met a few months ago. They both had mutual friends and attended one of those meetings where people often talk about their life stories together. It was there that Carol met John, a tall boy with brown hair and big dark eyes. She herself has brown skin, black hair and light brown eyes, like toasted honey, with a glow so radiant that only that pair of youthful eyes could radiate.
Since the very first moment they saw each other they felt an immediate attraction to one another and as they grew closer, their lives came together in an endless encounter of unimaginable dates. They enjoyed their gatherings with their group of friends and family.
They live in a place near the coast so their meetings on the beach were never lacking. During their meetings their friends divide themselves by groups and they divide the provisions each group takes care of, some take care of the drinks and the others have to bring the food. Then there’s others who bring the music. They all divide the work so that they can spend the day at the beach in the best possible way.
Carol and John love the sunset on the beach. They stay in an embrace, her from behind and him hugging her. In this way, the two of them can look at the sea, towards the horizon, and they can see how the sun sets. The colors they can see are so beautiful to describe. It seems that the sun, when it sets, will go out scattering all its colors around the sea.
There is a place, on the same coast of the Caribbean. It’s called a Morro, the cars go up to the top of the hill and from there you can see a panoramic and beautiful view of the entire coast. It’s a place where people tend to go to every day, either walking, running or by car, all to see the wonderful view at the top of the Morro.
For John and Carol it’s a very nice place to watch the sunset. They decide to go up that afternoon, in a group, after spending the day on the beach, they want to end the day by watching the sunset from the top of the hill. As always, she is on her back and he is behind her. But that day the sun is more impressive than ever. John wants to get the camera, so he ran to the car to get it. Meanwhile Carol, out of curiosity, approaches the cliff of Morro. She could see a very deep precipice so she tried to go a few steps back and, at that same moment, John arrived with the camera, ready to hug her again.
She turns and sees the beautiful smile that John offers her, the same beautiful smile of every day… And, as she gets lost in that smile, she begins to lose her balance and clings to him. But John, who came with the urge to hug her and take some photos, also clings to his beloved.
Everything went very fast, his friends on the other side could do nothing but watch with their faces filled with astonishment, they couldn’t comprehend what was happening.
Meanwhile Carol and John, holding each other, lost control of their bodies. Carol was screaming and falling off the cliff, trying to grab something to hold on to, but she didn’t find anything. John couldn't find what to grab to keep them from falling.
Their friends heard the screams coming from their friends' throats as they disappeared from their sight and as they approached what looked like a mound they saw a cliff and below and there, right at the bottom of the cliff, they saw the bodies of their two friends.
The medical examiner says that, apart from the general trauma to the bodies, the scariest thing was seeing how Carol had no nails. The first phalanxes tore at her fingers as she fell off the cliff and tried to grab something to stop her fall.
Bow i can't tell if the fall was an accident or if the nails really broke off along the side of the cliff while she was trying to grab something
