I have been a nature lover for many years, in my garden I plant many plants and among so many that of them are aromatic plants. My favorite aromatic plants are basil, rosemary and cilantro.
Basil:
My basil plants are the easiest ones to plant, transplant, and harvest. I can get a new plant from a stem of the mother plant. A stem is cut and then placed in soil with abundant organic compost and in 15 days there will be a new plant.
These are plants that are not perennial, this means that they have a life span and when they complete their life cycle they die.
When do they die? After their flowering their leaves begin to dry and its stems, which become woody, dry out. The flowers dry up and everything withers, but their seeds remain in the ground, if they find good conditions to be born and germinate, many new plants will be born to repeat the same cycle.
Rosemary:
The next plant in my garden is rosemary. It's a perennial plant, unlike basil, the rosemary plant remains as a shrub that will be aromatizing the environment for many years.
This plant is a bit more difficult to reproduce, difficult but not impossible. It's advisable to cut a strong branch from the mother plant and place it in water for a few days. After a week the branch or stem of the plant will have roots and we can plant it in a pot or in the ground, but always in soil with abundant organic compost.
Coriander:
The next plant is coriander. It's a short-lived aromatic plant. It grows from a seed, develops like a small bush and when it blooms and its flowers dry the plant also dies, but it leaves the seeds to continue reproducing.
So many herbssss. I wish some would grow here but i don't even have the space for it. I've been wanting to grow leeks and chives
