She is 17 years old, a very active teenager, who lives with her mother Margot, A 60-year-old woman who loves her three children, two girls and a boy. The boy, Raul is at his university, her oldest daughter, named Martha, is happily married and Lya, who is her youngest and most adorable daughter.
Lya worked as a babysitter at night, occasionally. She had many female friends who gave their children to her for her to take care of when they went out.
She takes dance lessons, she loves to dance, Lya has many friends there thanks to her very friendly and outgoing personality. She just draws a lot of attention for her way of being.
She has a boyfriend, Jim, who loves her, cares and respects her.
She is a very attentive and hard-working girl, who fights every day for her wishes.
Jim is already 19 years old and has to go to a college out of this state. He has to travel soon and saying goodbye is tough, he can't go back as often as he likes, because college demands a lot of his time.
The two of them must say goodbye tonight, so they decide to go out to dance and enjoy what time they have left before Jim leaves.
They are enjoying the night, the close friends, the lights, the sounds. It's all great; Jim and Lya are the soul of the night… But everything has to end, eventually.
Jim says goodbye to his friends: "I'll be back in town for in few months" he says and now he has to take Lya back to her house. The night is lonely, there aren’t many people on the streets and they pass the traffic lights calmly.
While driving, they talk about the beauty of the night and about this special outing. The car stops once they reach a red light and Jim takes this chance to ask Lya for a kiss.
Suddenly there is a deafening sound, extremely loud, but before any of them can react, they feel the car roll over. Jim loses control of his vehicle; everything is happening so quickly that he doesn’t understand the situation. And then, as quickly as it began, the car stops and Jim can finally get his bearings, he looks over to Lya's side. She's hurt, with blood all over her body.
Originally, Jim was meant to go to college and only return after a few months had passed but after this accident he had chosen to stay with Lya, waiting for her to recover.
She came out of the emergency room with a severe blow to the head. At the moment of the accident she was sitting on top of Jim, while they kissed, and if she hadn’t done that and instead stayed on her seat… the blow would have killed her. In other words, it was the kiss that saved her, technically; she still received a good blow to her occipital bone, which left her with a large wound on her scalp and with short term memory loss.
…At least that’s what they thought.
To be continue…
How I hope she still remembers Jim when she wakes up. 🥺 If ever she'll have a long-term memory loss, I hope it will be selective. I'm not even sure if selective long-term memory loss exist. 😂 But I hope so.
I'll be heading to the next part 😁
