Caladium Candidum:

It belongs to the Aracea family and its scientific name is “Caladium Candidum”. Its common name is “Caladium”.

This is Caladium is native to the Amazon rainforests. The most common species are: Caladium pictaratum, Caladium bicolor, Caladium schomburgkii and Caladium candidum.

Caladiums are a species of plant with two colors, in the case of this plant its leaves are green and white.

There are many species of caladium, in various colors, red, purple, pink, white and green. They are not very tall plants, reaching up to 30 cm in length.

These plants are made up of a set of leaves, which are heart-shaped, and in their center they have a midrib on their dark green leaves. The rest of the leaf has white with lines of various sizes of dark green. These leaves are each supported by a stem that starts from the terrestrial rhizome.

Caladium is a plant that does not tolerate direct exposure to the sun's rays. They are very thin leaves that would burn in the sun. Having them in semi-shade with solar radiation is enough to have them grow properly.

Their substrate requires moisture. It should contain compost and sand to maintain good irrigation drainage.

The plant reproduces by the bulbous rhizome. Simply separate it from the mother plant and transplant it into another pot that will eventually become another plant with the same characteristics as the mother plant.

It’s a plant used to the indoors, because it tolerates shade very well and can also be combined with other varieties to make a good ornament.

The flower of this plant is a spadix or spike that ends in a white spathe.

Ahh I've seen this plant in a lot of variations already. They often sell this along the streets of the mountain house we have

This plant is simple and beautiful. This species is very varied. Then I will describe others that I have.

That's true, i remember that some variations of this have a bit of pink on its white parts. It's pretty to keep. as a house plant

Yes, mine have these little red spots in some places.

I wonder if those reddish spots ever indicate something

Yes, I wonder if these plants are mutations of the red and green plants.

Mutation would be too farfetched a thought to me but it's not impossible

I do not understand why it seems crazy to you, I see that you do not understand much about the crossing of plants. They themselves seek their way. I have planted other types of plants and they are in charge of making their own crosses and making changes in their flower colors, I don't see why they can't change their leaf colors. I added color to the water once, red, and the plant changed from small red spots to large red spots. I even posted it on another platform.

That i need to see- and probably because i don't observe plant enough to understand how their mutations go unless it's in a controlled laboratory set up, of course. But i want to see that thing you did with the colored water! I'm curious about how it changed the leaf

He would have to do it again. Those first photos my son deleted them because he needed more space and I delete many images that I now want to have. It was a long time ago and I didn't do it again but I will.

Maybe you could check back on the other sources but if uou try to experiment again then i would be waiting for that!

It's easier to do it again than to get the post on the other platform. I do not know in which I made the publication, which by the way nobody found it interesting at that time. I do it again for this platform, the comments are great. I love it here. You feel that you write and that some people are interested in what you write because of your good comments. Because some only see the photos hahaha I can tell from the silly comments.

That's true though. I bet it's not that hard to replicate but i guess this is what happens when you meet a naturally curious mind. Hopefully it wouldn't be much trouble

Yes, you really are very curious, but it's nothing I can't do again. and I'll do it.

We have this plant, a houseplant. It is known as the ivory ear, even if it is a female plant then it blooms, it is recognizable by its leaves. Since it is very heart-shaped, the width of the leaves is smaller compared to the male plant.

It is nice to know what other names this plant receives on other continents. The Anthurium has not yet flowered me. I am waiting for you to take your photos.

An interesting plant! I do not know the name of this plant, maybe there is another name for this plant in my country, so it is unknown to me.

The scientific name is the same everywhere. It may have another common name but in the parts where I find the image of this plant it always responds to the name of Caladium.
