In ancient times, in the kingdom of Albay there was a mighty Rajah. She had a beautiful child that people in North Korea called her "Beautiful Girl."
He was so attracted to her beauty that countless ladies and gentlemen offered her love. One of those who went astray was Kauen, son of the rich Rajah of the western kingdom. The young man offered precious jewels and gold but the girl refused the gift. Kanuen is disappointed but boasts that the girl will be with him someday.
From far away Gat Malaya heard the distressed beauty of Magagang Magayon. He had many opportunities to play the game but had some obstacles. Once, near the small river, a young woman was found flowering. The young woman loses the water for a moment. The young man heard the melody of a joyful song to call his attention. They look up and the young man smiles.
The principle of Tagalog was heartbroken and it said, "Good lady, I come from far away so you can be curious and see your own beauty!"
"Who are you? I do not know you! You dare! ”
“I am Gat Malaya, from the kingdom near here. Give me a flower and I will enjoy it! ”
The girl had to throw the flower. It landed on the man's palms and it was urgently pinned to the left chest.
"Can I see you again?"
And the two appointments of the two began on the historic river.
“One day,” the man suggested, “I love you. Let's get married! ”
“But the Rajah? My father? ” there is a possible explanation. "He should know!"
"Do not worry! I will ask for your hand! ”
The Rajah consented. The young prince liked it because he was polite and charming when he acted. The Rajah arranged the wedding at the full moon, after the harvest.
Gat Malaya said goodbye to inform her parents of the wedding. He will lose his father and the three of them will return to Albay.
Kauen (failed lover) heard of the broken chest. He took advantage of the opportunity that Gat Malaya did not have. He went to Magagang Magayon.
The girl refuses despite the warnings: "If I don't get you, no one will win you anything!"
The princess was afraid of the threat to her life and to her father. He replied, "I'll be yours if Gat Malaya doesn't come back!"
Days and weeks change. The harvest is near, but Malaya is not yet. She hasn't returned yet. Every night the girl sat in the chair and waited.
When the full moon came, Daraga was forced to marry Kauen. There were magnificent dinners - dining and dancing.
In the middle of the night, Gat Malaya and his parents were waiting.
"I'm here to claim my bride!" said Malaya.
"Can not!" replied Kauen.
There was a measure of strength. It may be recalled that Malay was for the sword but Kauen was slim and subtle.
When Kauen throws his spear, Daragang Magayon runs to intervene and disciplines the girl. Unfortunately, the spear hit the girl's chest. Malaya embraced it but was attacked by a competitor. Breath is in love.
The Rajah and the whole palace mourned. He ordered that the two be put together in a pit.
The days passed. Miracles of miracles. The ground at the burial ground rises until it becomes a mountain. The shape is so beautiful and perfect. It was called Mayon Mountain, in memory of Magagang Magayon.
I don't know about this legend. But what I heard about Mayon is "A perfect cone on it".
