Many of the small blockers excuse the prices or hardware and centralization. Still, once hardware can be bought at a fair price by retail buyers, there is no chance for centralization because everyone will be able to run a node either in today's computers or in the future. Don't forget that hardware gets cheaper and cheaper by the year. Also, services like the internet get more affordable and much faster by the year.

1MB blocks.

Any computer can run a full node at 1MB for blocks, even computers that were made before 2010, you need to put a one terabyte hard drive, and you are done, and at least 1mbps internet connection.

The computer cost $100

Internet costs $70 or less.

If you upgrade to SSD, $100 plus computer.

You could get even an accessible computer from the streets and still be able to run a full node, as long as you fix it up and the device works. But you will pay an eye for each transaction, so you will run the full node but not have enough money to pay for the transactions. And that's why BTC today is $5 or more.

32MB welcome to Bitcoin Cash.

You can run a full node with a desktop computer or laptop that is at least five years old, or that has ports to connect an external hard drive, or even internally, you will need a computer that has at least another way to put a second hard drive or drive bay. But I am sure you can run a full node at 32MB blocks with a computer that costs $300 or more, up to $1000. You must put your OS on a different hard drive and the blockchain on another.

At 32MB, you will need to have 4608 MB available each day. You will need 1642.5GB or 1.643TB each year, so that you will need a 16.43TB hard drive in ten years.

The computer costs $300 to $1000

Hard drive cost for OS $20 SSD will do just fine, either with Ubuntu or Windows.

Second hard drive to save the blockchain.

Internet connection 100mbps $75; you may be using this service already.

So if you go and shop around, I am pretty sure you can run a full node for $1000 or less and run your node at 32MB for ten years, no problem, so that you can use your Bitcoin Cash with less than a penny fee. You could also go all SSD and spend only $5000 to run a complete code. That's too expensive for me at the moment. Aso internet connection will only take 4 seconds or less to download blocks.

128MB blocks here is where the push comes.

In my opinion, to run 128MB today will be much more expensive but notice that at 32MB, a $1000 computer will run the node for ten years, so guess what in 3 years the price to run a full node at 128MB will be much lower than today, and in 10 years it could even be below $3000 or I dare to say $1000.

But let's say you want to know. Well, here we go.

You will need a computer that is at least $1000 or more, that has the latest hardware so that your node runs fast and has enough memory as well; at 32MB, you don't need that much memory, but 128 will be much heavier on your PC, you will also need to put your OS in another hard drive to have a better experience.

ExaDrive DC – 100 TB SSD $40,000 you only need one unit.

Eight bays RAID external enclosure $829.

8 HDD for 128TB total in RAID $2588.48

100mbps will work just fine, but if you can, you can use fiber for 1GB connection price is around $70 to $200. Downloading blocks will take 2 to 3 seconds at 1GB. But 100mbps will do it in 10 seconds or so. For mining, you will need a 1GB internet connection or better, which I believe is called fiber optic.

As you can see, at 128MB, you will need to spend at least or around $3500 just on hardware, but your current internet connection may work if you are a non-mining node.

In conclusion.

As the years go by, you will notice that hardware cost is going down at the same time that newer hardware is much faster than the old one, so in 10 years, 100TB hard drives and 1GB internet connections will be as natural as your current internet connection, 5G is coming for mobile. I believe that in 10 years, the developed world will have fiber optic on every single regular home.

At today's current hardware cost and internet speed, a 128MB block size chain could create centralization because few people will afford the hardware cost. Still, Bitcoin Cash doesn't have 32MB whole blocks at this time, so it is possible that we could have another ten years before we may need 128MB blocks.

But even if the need to use 128MB comes, I am sure the community will find a workaround or a way to crowdfund the development of cheaper hardware, which will also mean that Bitcoin Core will be useless at that point. If we ever filled the 32MB blocks, you can be sure that Core will be a thing of the past as well.

Usage is the only thing Bitcoin Cash needs, and DeFi will bring that usage and prove that Bitcoin Cash is the real Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Cash is a real decentralized peer-to-peer currency as described by Satoshi Nakamoto back in 2008-2009, and it will continue to be in the future as well.
