It is a situation that we already know, are aware of, and even consider normal, how the workers' labor is taken away by using different methods or they are employed for less than they deserve, their social security is not adequately protected, and they are not benefited from certain compensations. These are sometimes done by political forces, sometimes by the owners of firms, factories, and sometimes by people who use the power of their money.

I do not want to evoke more negativity by talking about negativities here, as they say, interpret it well so that the result will be good. Maybe we show the negativities we encounter so much that we forget the beauties and do not realize it. Let's talk a little bit about those who respect the workers and deliver what they deserve.

Yes, one of them is the world giant HONDA brand. HONDA was established in Kocaeli (Turkey) in 1997 and has been producing CIVIC model vehicles in my country for more than 24 years. The deva brand, which has been maintaining its functionality for years with more than 1200 employees in total, announced that it would stop production 2 years ago, first with all its employees and then with the whole press. Even after the necessary information and announcements were made, production continued without interruption with all its employees.

Finally, the day of closing came, on September 28, 2021, he took his last vehicle off the tape. Until now, everything was a normal process for the giant brand.

The next part can be seen as an event that should be normal, but can be considered abnormal because it is not done by most countries, organizations, brands or individuals. But I must say again that this is what ought to be and what ought to be done has been done. In fact, although there are no legal obligations in some of them, the HONDA brand has more than done its part.

2 days after the HONDA Turkey company was closed (September 30), all its employees were paid severance pay, which they deserve in legal regulations, and 8 salaries, due to the unemployment of the employees, into their accounts. These are workers' rights that are already protected by legal regulations.

Let's come to the support that HONDA Turkey does not have to, but voluntarily gives to its workers. 1 salary + 1 Republic gold for each of the 1200 employees, with the intention of saying goodbye and a souvenir.

Those who do not know what Republic gold is, can look here.

They divided 1200 employees into 2 groups, the groups were formed as those who worked for more than 10 years and those who worked for less than 10 years. 48 salary bonuses for those who work more than 10 years and 40 salary bonuses for those who work less than 10 years.

Considering the country's conditions, when these figures are added together, a luxury flat + car can be bought.

In addition, HONDA company provides free investment consultancy to its employees on how to evaluate the compensation given to workers, and career consultancy support to help them find new jobs.

Sometimes it is not enough to just produce something to grow and rise, the traces you leave behind add greatness to your greatness. In this sense, you left a great mark in Turkey, HONDA.

Thank you for reading.

I read a book about 50 companies that shape the world's future. The most important thing I remember about that book was that all of those big companies gave priority to the happiness of their employees. What Honda has done is admirable. It means that there are companies like Hnda among companies that have turned into capitalist monsters whose sole purpose is to exploit the peoples of the world!

I'm just learning about this now. Just like your last paragraph stated, it's not just to produce, sell and make money, the changes established have a long way to go. They did well by dropping such compensative offers to the employees.

Could this closure be seen entirely as tge government's fault? Welll a thousand two hundred workers rendered jobless due to its close is really shocking

There is no grievance for the workers here, they have earned more than enough. After that, they can also wait for retirement or work in other jobs. It could be the government's fault if we follow straight logic. In recent years, we have been in a serious economic and political crisis. But there is a situation, Honda closed its factory in England at the same time. In this respect, it can be interpreted as the company's own decision.
