Canva is a free graphic design platform. In Canva you can edit photos, create infographics, flayers, presentations, social media posts, logos, and much more. In this post, I write about the first steps using this platform.
The platform is 100% user friendly, so you don't need previous experience as a designer to create nice visualizations. You have at your disposal thousands of templates to use and get inspired. Its drag and drop interface makes things really easy for you.
As I mentioned before, the platform is free to use, however, you can also pay a subscription to Canva Pro or Canva for Enterprise for additional functionalities.
There is an outstanding functionality that I'd like to mention: collaboration. You can invite friends or coworkers to work together. Every member of the team have access to the file and is able to edit.
You could consider using Canva for your next team project and impress everybody with a very professional presentation. Or maybe you only want to have fun and create cool posts for your Instagram account. This is also possible with Canva, the variety of templates reaches a wide spectrum of users, so give it a try and learn something new!
1. First things first, create an account β
Go to canva.com and sign up with your email, Facebook, or Google account. Just follow the instructions and you'll be done in less that 2 minutes.
2. Get familiar with Canva's interface βοΈ
Once logged in you'll see something like the screenshot bellow, if you already know what you want to do, go to the search bar and type a key word like "logo", "presentation", or "photo". In the left bar you can access to your files, or create a team. Top navigation bar allows you to look for templates by category: Social media, Personal, Business, Marketing, Education, and Trending. There you'll also find Features like free photos or icons.
Let's say, you type "presentation" and now you aren't really sure about what to do? Did you notice the video above? One cool thing about Canva are their video tutorials. Everything you need to know about the platform is well explained through short videos ----> https://designschool.canva.com/tutorials/ Follow courses and tutorials in the Learn tab and become an expert in Canva!
