The truth behind Qid Yuff - What he can do for you

In the Splinterlands Crypto Game, most of you consider Qid Yuff as a weak summoner, but two reasons make him very special: first of all, untamed + dice tournaments! Second, new combinations with very specific monsters that are generally bad without this new strategy, such as Magnor, which has been super crappy outside untamed tournaments, and even in those, you still needed unarmored and something like super sneak or melee mayhem so he wouldn't die in the first two turns.

After all, armor is the bane of Magnor. That's what Qid Yuff solves! No longer will Magnor stop stomping your enemies just because they have a helmet on their heads (1 armor). He will pierce right through everything. Magnor can only decently exist outside unarmored thanks to Qid Yuff! But there are a few other monsters suffering from the same issue. They are finally free, for pretty much the same reason: Molten Ogre, Pit Ogre and Giant Roc. Never again miss a Trample trigger. Such might shall not be stopped against metal, for Piercing will be a part of them.

And still, I'm not done talking about Qid Yuff. Because there is one more window he opens: everything related to knockdown. This is another ability that was rather useless against armored monsters. Ettin Spearman's knockdown usually does not even matter, because by the time it finally triggers, the target was already mowed down to low HP anyway. You'll see him deal 10 damage, but only 3 was needed. Back when he was the one dealing damage, certainly his target had just had their armor repaired for +1. Bleh. Only when Ettin Spearman, Pyromancer and Kobold Bruiser are combined with Qid Yuff will you finally see through their full potential.

This Knockdown thing is also very important in Knockdown ruleset matches, since you're now always applying full damage to stunned monsters. Eat through everything!
