Spooky night

On my noise.cash profile, I built a bit of suspense about this story, which happened 2 days ago. One could think I am really good at making people curious, but it’s more selfish than this. I have a tendency to start many things, but rarely finish all that I started, so telling people that I WILL post about a certain thing keeps me accountable and makes it much more likely to happen.

Of course, I could beat myself up about my bad habits, but that never brings about change (I tried!). Instead I observe them and find the ways to ridicule them and take their power away, until they starve. Yes, I’m cruel like this :)

Today is the day I started typing the story on my phone, but it grew and grew, like that post about the snails, so I knew it’s time to move it to my google docs and make it into an article. I have others that I started and wanted to post first, but this one is just urging me to be told right now.

It just needs to come out NOW

It’s the middle of the day here, in England, but for my PH friends it's almost night time, so perfect timing. It is also a windy and stormy day, which can also be spooky at times... wind seems to have many stories to tell.

Because if fits my spooky night!

Let me start with this picture of a random house which seemed like a great surrounding for the full moon capture I took last year and edited with this ridiculous rainbow, as it fits well into my story. It’s not even a full moon - still 5 days to go and we also have a lunar eclipse then , so the energy is building up nicely. Have you ever noticed how it is always a full moon when you watch a spooky scene in a movie?

It was a spooky full moon night... just kidding

So on Wednesday night I went to bed rather late - it was past 2 am. Sometimes my sleeping patterns go wonky like this... maybe a lot on my mind or not enough exercise, hard to tell.

I played some binaural beats to help with sleep, but I was still tossing for half an hour or so. At some point I heard a noise, but I was so sleepy by then that I thought to myself:

‘Oh well, if someone comes in, the alarm will wake me up’. I carried on thinking about it as I was drifting into my dream state.

I remembered the last time it happened. It was summer about 2 years ago. A fly laid eggs somewhere in the hidden corner of my kitchen and these huge flies were showing up ‘out of nowhere’. One night I hesitated whether to turn on the house alarm as I suspected they might set it off, being so huge and slow. Sure enough that’s exactly what happened. After this incident, I called a war on them and finally found and removed the source.

I almost smiled in my sleep thinking how ridiculous my thoughts are and that there are currently no flies in this house to my knowledge.

‘My’ flies were triple this size!

Imagine the horror when I heard the house alarm going off in my sleep half an hour later! I was so confused - I jumped out of bed, but I wasn’t sure whether to look at the cctv image in my phone or run downstairs, as the alarm will wake up the whole neighbourhood.

I chose to run out of my bedroom, my heart pounding like crazy, but I realised I was almost naked! I ran back to put some trousers on and started to turn all the lights for some reason - probably to somehow scare the robber! I checked all bedrooms for hidden villains, but as I ran downstairs I realised all 3 doors were closed - front door, living room door and dining room door, just as I left it an hour earlier, so probably there was no robbery.

Try explaining it to my heart though! It was pounding like crazy and my body did all kinds of weird shit.

I ran to the alarm box and opened the front door wide for absolutely no reason 😅 as I was turning the sound off. Good job I grabbed those trousers at least.

I turned on all the lights downstairs too and checked the back door, which was locked, just as I left it. There were also no opened windows and no flies!

Still shaking I turned on the alarm again and slowly went back upstairs. I was very confused as to what set the alarm off. I checked the footage on my cctv and there was nobody outside when the alarm woke me up.

No robbers?

The sound of the alarm started at around 3:15am and less than a minute later my outside lamp went on, as some crazy person opened the front door in the middle of the night. No other suspicious activity around the time all this happened.

It took me almost to sunrise to calm down and fall asleep again. The following day I walked around the whole house again and checked all the windows. There was no way a person could come in and set the alarm that night. Everything was locked and no signs anyone's presence.

Who or what was it?

So what set the alarm? Was it the spider which lives in the corner of the dining room and hides whenever I try to evict him?

Or could I set the alarm by a THOUGHT alone?

'Timorous Beasties is a design-led manufacturing company based in Glasgow that specialises in fabrics and wallpapers' - that's the only thing I found. Has it got another meaning?

I actually don't. I think I mentioned to you that I am no good with remembering any famous names and I am not that into poetry either.
