As we all know that there are hundreds of missing persons cases in the world especially girls missing cases are more in numbers than males, but some cases are considered as mysterious in nature due to some unnatural behavior’s or astonishing facts are present in these cases.
So, in this article I have also talk about one the most mysterious case of a 21 years old Canadian national missing girl Elisa Lam. I think lots of people already knew about this case but they only have little bit of knowledge about this case but here in this article I have try review the whole case deeply and try to understand that whether this case is still be mysterious one or not.
Who is Elisa Lam?
Elisa Lam was a Canadian girl who was born in 1991 in Vancouver, Canada her parents belonged to Hong Kong. They had a restaurant in Vancouver called Paul’s restaurant. Elisa also had a younger sister named Sarah, Elisa was very close to her sister Sarah. She had a good friend’s company, she was very outgoing and talkative girl she had also likes to reading books and exploring the beautiful places Canada according to her parents. She was also writing blogs about fashion and other things but she also had some psychological issues which she had also discussed in her blog, one of her blogs she mentioned about her health problem, her words are,
“I have been having headaches for the past two days and my vision shakes when I stand. I’m not sure if its vertigo but definitely do not feel stable even when sitting. Its also get hard to focus at time. I can’t seem to process the whole scene, almost like tunnel-vision on a hand-held camera.
If only family doctor worked on Sunday.
I can’t see why a few can’t decide to work on weekends and close on other days of the week. Sickness doesn’t take a day off and even pharmacists are available 7 days a week. Oh well, nothing I can do unless I feel like going to the hospital (no way).”
After passing high school she enrolled at the university of British Columbia, even in university life she was facing problems due to her mental health issues, and she could not focused on her studies, and the situation of her health had continuously worsen day by day. She mentioned in one of her blog,
“I feel I’m wasting my time as compared to my fellow peers.
I am very disappointed in myself for breaking down during the term forcing me to withdraw from courses. I have been at university for 3 years and I have only managed to complete 3 courses. That means I have been a first year for three years and this September it will be for the fourth year because I require 30 credits in order for second year status.
I just wish…. Someone around me could understand what it really means to be depressed.”
her words showed that she was in extreme depression condition and her health issues badly affected her studies also.
At the beginning of 2013 Elisa decided to travel to California alone for refresh her mind and exploring the world. While travelling she was in touch continuously with her parents, telling her plans to her parents. In the end of January, she moved to Los Angles where she stayed in well-known Cecil hotel for some time.
Now there are lots of conspiracies theories are attached with this hotel and why not because this hotel has been the site of so many suicides, murders and mysterious deaths two serial killers also stayed in this hotel for some period of time. It is believed that there had been around 80 deaths cases in this hotel in which murders and suicides also included.
Lets back to the topic, Elisa had booked a shared room in this hotel and this room was also shared by two other persons. However, her roommates complained about her odd behavior to the hotel management, and that’s why she was then booked her own private room, while during all these things she was continuously in contact with her parents and according to her parents she was looked pretty normal at that time, but who knows.
On January 31st she did not called her home to her parents and this was the first time during her entire trip, When she did not call to her parents, her parents immediately became worried and they called to the Los Angeles police department and then police came to the hotel and start investigating about Elisa. Her parents also came to Los Angeles on immediate basis for searching of their loving daughter with police and they searched all hotel and everywhere but there was no sign of her.
After searching for two weeks continuously Los Angeles police held a press conference on February 14th in which they showed a shocking CCTV video, which is very famous or viral video on internet of Elisa Lam in the elevator of the Cecil hotel.
In this CCTV footage the behavior of Elisa looked very abnormal and it is clearly observed in this video that she is in extreme depression condition or hallucination problem. Anyway after that video released by police department all the search became stop or postponed because police and all the peoples supposed that the mental condition of the missing girl was not normal and consider that the girl was ran away anywhere by its own will. Over the next few days, the guests at the Cecil hotel began to complained about the unusual taste of the color of water was black so the hotel management start to figure out the problem. And then the most mysterious scenes of this case happened.
On February 19th the Elisa Lam body was found in one of the four tanks which were located at the rooftop of the Cecil hotel. The shocking thing is that there was no access to the tanks according to the hotel management.
Then the police ordered to performing an autopsy on the body as soon as possible. On February 21st Elisa cause of death released from the authorities, and according to this report there was no evidence of sexual assault or trauma, however lot of drugs were found in her body, and the police said it was an accidental death because Elisa mental health was not normal and also at the time of death lot of drugs were found in her system so the case closed.
Critical Analysis of Elisa’s Case:
One of the most mysterious and valid question on her death is how she get accessed to the tanks at the rooftop of the hotel, because according to the hotel management the door of the roof was locked at that time, so the question is very much valid. But this question has not been mysterious anymore. Why, I tell you. After this incident in Cecil hotel, a video was filmed at the roof of this hotel by someone, and it could be clearly seen in this video that anyone can go the roof of this hotel easily. Even a ladder was also present there to get access to the tanks. So it is very much possible that Elisa had go to the rooftop in abnormal or depressive condition, as her abnormal behavior could also be seen in CCTV footage.
The other mysterious thing which is related to this case, is the Cecil hotel, Elisa had also stayed in this hotel for some time. As I have mentioned above that this hotel is well known for murders and suicidal cases, so that’s why peoples consider this hotel as haunted, and they thinks that the hotel is under influences of ghosts or satanic powers. Well I can’t say anything about this, because the history of this hotel seriously horrifying. , and this is the reality.
Some peoples have also talking about her odd behaviors in the elevator, which was seen in CCTV footage. But I think it’s not any mysterious thing, because she was a patient of psychological and mental disorder. It seems that she had not taken her medications recently.
By the way all I can say that this case was very distressing. Now you people decide, whether it was a murder case or it was an accident, or a supernatural case, and whether the hotel management is also responsible for her death, as they had failed to stop Elisa to go to the roof.
