Vampires Doomsday - Chapter 2

The police received a call from a woman who claimed her daughter was missing. According to her, her daughter went out with her boyfriend to a school party and didn't return home. She called her mobile number but there was no answer. She called her daughter's friends and teacher of the whereabouts of her daughter but they said she and her boyfriend didn't come to the party. Her second daughter confessed that her sister told her they were going to the woods to make a tent and have s*x.

So the police sent a search party to look for them. Few hours later, the search party saw a small tent which was empty. They saw blood on the ground which they traced to the back of the tent and they saw a teenage boy lying dead with big holes on both corners of his neck. It was the woman's daughter's boyfriend and his blood was drained from his body. They saw footprints and traced it only to discover the woman's daughter body lying deceased in her pool of blood with similar hole in one corner of her neck. The police was baffled by the incident as they didn't know if it was an animal attack or a murder.

Jake sat on the sofa watching television. He was alone in the house. It was about 0014 hours when he heard of the incident in one of the news reports on the television. He saw the bodies and it didn't puzzle him because he knew it was a vampire's attack. He presumed the attack was done by three vampires. Three vampires he intended to hunt down and kill that night, before they make the headlines again. The police sent out armed policemen into the woods to search for whatever or whoever killed the teenagers.

Jake went out in the evening to catch the vampires. He was clueless of their whereabouts. He needed a way to lure out the vampires without the interference of the police. He pierced his right thumb and applied his blood from trees to trees and then climbed up a tree where he stayed on a branch waiting silently.

Vampires, like sharks, had the ability to pick up the smell of fresh blood from metres away and so they were likely to detect Jake's blood on the tree which will remain fresh for enough time to reel in the vampires. They also prefer wounded preys and like to taunt them before sucking.

Soon, he heard rustles of leaves and grasses and stayed alert, because vampires can be tricky at times, making their wounded unsuspecting preys look like a wounded gazelle in the presence of a lion. Suddenly, torch lights were pointing up at Jake. He didn't recall vampires using torch lights. Unfortunately, it was two policemen on lookout. They threatened him to come down from the tree or get shot. He climbed down and when they saw his weapons, they thought he was the killer and ordered him to disarm himself. He tried to tell them that he was not the killer and that they are in grave danger but they wouldn't listen.

Just then, a vampire dashed in and grabbed one of the policemen and bit off the flesh of his neck and suckled on the gushing blood. As the other, policeman panicked with fear and surprise looking at his comrade being suckled, he was grabbed by another vampire but before it could bite his neck, Jake threw his chain at the vampire and it caught his neck. Then, Jake quickly withdrew the chain and the vampire was beheaded. Just then, a third vampire grabbed Jake and threw him at a tree, pounced on him and tried to suckle him but he reached for his dagger and plunged it into the vampire's stomach. The vampire quickly let go and fled and the first vampire did likewise.

Jake upbraided the second panting policeman because he and his partner had compromised his plan and now two vampires were still out there. As Jake walked away, the policeman asked him where he was going and he told him he was going to find the two runaway vampires by following the blood trail left by the third vampire and he insisted on following Jake.

As they went, he asked Jake who he was and how it was possible that he had seen three vampires. Jake told him he was a licensed vampire assassin and that vampires have been existing for a long time. He told Jake his name was Carl and Jake told him his name.

Two hours later, they saw the vampire Jake had earlier stabbed resting on a tree healing its wound. Carl was flabbergasted. Immediately he saw them, he tried to flee but Jake threw a dagger at his leg and it fell down and couldn't move. As it tried to remove the dagger, they walked to it and Jake broke his neck and set it ablaze.

Few minutes later, they encountered the last vampire. He was raged and dashed towards Jake. Jake caught him by the elbow, injected him with hydrated grinded garlic and threw him down and he rolled on the ground in deep pain. Then Jake drew out his sword and beheaded it. He told Carl not to tell anyone of what he had seen and bid him farewell. Then feeling fulfilled, he went home.
