Reflection #1
Education is a life-long process where individuals of diverse culture and perspectives are enjoined by the common goal of human growth and development leading forward our potentialities for the pursuit of faith, excellence, and service. Thus, as an educational leader in the scheme of unending learning, a good and effective value rooted in the philosophical paradigm of giving intrinsic worth to what is essentially undeniable merit or importance to life is of great significance. The price is priceless as values are rooted in the core dignity of humanity.

Tiring it seems, but its the reality of education. It is really difficult to do something or learn something we do not know. If we do know already then what's the point of educating then?
When education becomes our expression of our firm beliefs, standards of action, or our expression of our ideals in life and that these are all hinged to what we consider valuable and essential in life, then philosophy of values is undeniably most significant.
Every man or woman on earth desires what is good and essential in life. Some find it in money, some in material wealth, some in relationships, others in career success, friends, family, education, reaching old age, knowledge, etc. We all have this intuitive and natural desire to be attracted to what is good and beautiful. We might see it in material things or on abstract realities. Though the reality remains the same that each one sees beauty and goodness as values themselves.

Philosophy of Values will help (me) ground my ideals in life to what is essential. Ideals might oftentimes be not realistically practical but grounding it to the essential that serves as foundation of the structural forms of values will surely lead me become a leader in the field of education. Learning is always a growth to all and to learn to become grounded in faith, excellence and service to humanity through education. The essentials is not always visible to the eye, but the eye of reason sees beyond what is physical. Emerging values in modern society affect everyone. If the school is where growth is directed towards values, then it is where (I) one can play an important role in the progress of valuable knowledge of values per se. Formation and creation of ideals that inspire, that molds human people to their fullest potential, all happens in the educational system. Thus grounding values philosophically is a necessity.

Loving what is essential and bringing the essential into real is the ideals and praxis of philosophy. In this sense values are given considerable importance to the meaning of life affecting the social, economic, political, spiritual aspects of our humanity. As teacher(s), (I am) we task to in the process of becoming the very foundation of sharing what we have is to have what to share to others especially to our students or learners. I cannot give what I don't have, and the only way to exercise leadership in leading others in faith, excellence and service is to equip myself with these values as inspired by men and women of values in our society.
