Why You Should Collect Your Physical Coins!
If you're a collector of cryptocurrencies and you haven't begun collecting your physical coins, then why haven't you? Everybody these days want to buy up Bitcoin, Hive, Dogecoin, but the classic coins that make noise in your pockets when you walk... They just don't get that much love from you anymore (maybe?).
Here we have some US Quarters from the year 2021. On the Left, we have the front and the back of the 2021 Tuskegee Airman Quarter which is slightly rarer than the quarters on the right. The ones on the right are the 2021 Crossing the Delaware Quarters. Both of these quarters are based on historical events. If you're an American and have some coins lying around it is VERY likely you have a LOT of Crossing the Delaware quarters.
There are many reasons as to why people choose cryptocurrency over paper money and physical coins, but physical coins are actually quite important. Some may be tied to historical events, and in some cases even a PENNY is worth several hundred dollars TODAY! Even the makeup of some of these coins, especially those made from copper and silver, can be quite valuable and their melt value (please don't melt the coins, it is illegal to melt for profit in the USA) can be worth MORE than the coin is actually worth.
Coins have been used as a currency to trade for candy, but what if you kept your coins for many years and not have indulged in some sweets? In many marketplaces around the country, you can sell these coins for far more than their market value. There are many historians and coin collectors that will pay top dollar for coins from a specific year, or with errors on the coins. Some coins can be sold at pawnshops, and in more populated locations in the US you can go to a local coin collectors' shop to sell your coins for more than they are worth.
If you're collecting ALL the cryptocurrencies or have a large stake in them, you should also consider collecting your coins!
God Bless You and God Bless America!
It's a good idea, i just started collecting 2021 and 2022 coins.. we may end physical coins in the next few years so holding onto these might be a good idea.
Keep in mind - you need shiny mint coins for them to be worth something.
I had a bag full of old Australian pennies and found out they are virtually worthless unless they are shiny and in mint condition.
