I don't believe in labels but I understand that we live in a world where people like to use these to define others - so here are some fan facts and misconceptions about the fluid population to straighten things out, or not :p
Bisexual men are often viewed as "essentially gay" while bisexual women are viewed as "straight women." Different stereotypes and stigmas are often applied to bisexual men and women. When a man comes out as bisexual, people assume he simply isn't ready to admit that he's gay. When a woman comes out as bisexual, people may assume she's "more or less straight" but experiencing a "phase." Many straight women are turned off by bisexual men because they've been with other men, but many straight men are turned on by bisexual women because they've been with other women.
6 misconceptions about bisexuality that we need to forget:
Bisexuality is just a phase
You stop being Bi when you're in a relationship with one gender
Bisexuals don't understand that gender is not binary
Bisexuals can't be monogamous
Bisexuals are in it for attention
Bisexual equals promiscuity
Remember that #LoveisLove and the soul has no gender, only the ego does.
If you're reading this and feel like people keep invalidating you based in your preference, you're fucking cool and this is for you. Cheer up and let your opinions fall away :)
We have one life, live it for yourself.
Have a great one!
