As the pandemic starts we are all locked up in our houses, and honestly, Readcash gave me a quality past time during the months of lockdown. I've been a member for about two months already, and I really enjoyed my stay here. I've seen lots of beautiful photographs here especially in the Photography community.
I really love and I'm a fan of photography and I felt extreme happiness when I'm staring at those magnificent photos especially when I came to see some beautiful flowers.
As I've said before, we don't have flowers at home. We only have medicinal plants or herbs for their health purposes. And every time I wanted to capture some beautiful flowers, I need to go outside at the road beside the Baptist School nearby. So, I thought of having my own garden at home.
By the month of August, I first planted some garden crotons. As days and weeks passed, I have planted lots of shrubs and some flowers. My son always loves to work together with me every time I'm planting. He always demanded to water the plants in my garden. He was already three years old and he does not have any playmates at home. His little brother was still a baby, that's why he always loves to engage in some of my chores and works.
Last September 13, I was surprised when he suddenly uttered these words.
"Let me plant them, Mama!"
He was referring to the plants I have asked from his grandfather.
At first, I thought he was just playing around. He always teased and joke around with me, and I thought he would just wreck the plants. But he insisted and said he loves to plant those and add up in my garden.
"I'll help you, Mama."
He suddenly mumbled those words, and I was glad and was convinced by his cherishing words.
I gave him my permission to touch the soil, actually, it was a compost. A compost made out of chicken manure and rotten leaves. Then he happily replied with me a smile and started to plant.
I was smiling all the time while attending to him. He was so curious about many things, he even saw some worms from the soil. Gladly he wasn't disgusted while he planted those plants.
We asked for some pouches of chicken feeds from his grandfather, these pouches served as our temporary pots for our plants. We haven't bought some pots and I love to save some money, so I decided not to buy pots instead, I'm using recycled pots just like these pouches.
One by one he slowly added some soil inside the pouch. He can't put in properly some soil inside the pouch, making his works to slow down. However, I just let him do his works. I'm just staring at him and ready to assist him if he needs any help.
Little by little, he planted all those plants without my help. After he was finished, he felt very very proud of himself. He painted an innocent smile on his face which shows that he was so very delighted of his accomplishment.
He planted all of this slowly but surely. And of course, he was rewarded for his diligence. I'm very happy and proud of him. He loves plants as much as I do and he's starting to love nature too. Despite his young age, he has his own particular ways of thinking. I'm just so proud of him as his mother. I'm so happy that he grew up into a thoughtful and respectful little boy. All the family loves him very much he was caring and generous too even with the other kids.
Now he became my little apprentice in my garden. He always checks our plants and he always does the reports with me if he saw something unusual or our flowers blossom.
His brother and he, are one of my greatest blessings and trophy in my life. They were my everything. I'm so grateful that I am their mother and they were my sons.
All images are personally mine.
