Extra Special Treat, A Sweet Ice cream

Who doesn't love the taste of this sweet delicate treat, ice cream?

This yummy treat is a mixture of milk, cream, sugar, and sometimes other ingredients that have been frozen into a soft, creamy delight using special techniques. Almost every one of us loves this tasty treat, who doesn't love its cold and so sweet taste that melts in your mouth.

While vanilla has been the top favorite flavor in the world for many years, ice cream comes from different flavors which are making the vanilla's top position to glide.

Flavors of ice cream now comes in chocolate, strawberry, cookies and cream, rocky road, mango, ube, buco salad, avocado, butter pecan, chocolate chip cookie dough, macha and many more.

No doubt a cup of ice cream is delicious and delightful. A lot of people love it so much and I'm one of them. My partner and I love ice cream too, the same goes for our son. We take ice cream as our comfort food too.

Every time our tastebuds want icecream, my partner would buy it for us.

This ice cream was delicious and believed it or not, it only costs not less than ₱90.00 or less than $2. You can enjoy this affordable ice cream and it tastes good despite of its cheap price.

If you can't buy an ice cream, or you're tired of the taste or flavors of the ice cream you usually bought, you can make your ice cream at home, or what we called a homemade ice cream.

I made mine but I forgot to take pictures of it. Actually it was last 2018, it was a long time ago but making ice cream is just easy. I still remember the recipe for I love to cook, especially homemade recipes. And as a Hotel and Restaurant graduate, cooking and recipes are part of my daily life.

Let me share with you this simple recipe on how to make ice cream. The recipe below is an Oreo flavored ice cream or cookies in cream.

Oreo Ice cream

Ingredients:

2 packs All-purpose cream (chilled)

1 can Condensed Milk (Big)

1 can evaporate milk (Big)

1 pack Crushed Oreo cookies

Procedure:

  • Chill the all-purpose cream and the condensed milk for approximately 3 hours.

  • Add some crushed ice in a large bowl and put on top a bowl for mixing your ice cream. (This is to ensure and fasten the All-purpose cream to double its volume)

  • In a separate bowl, beat the all-purpose cream using a hand mixer, if you have none, you can manually beat it until it doubles in volume.

  • Then add the condensed milk and the evaporated milk alternately.

  • Beat continuously until it is well-mixed.

  • Add the crushed oreo cookies through cut and fold. (separate some crushed cookies for the toppings)

  • Freeze for 4 hours.

  • Serve and Enjoy!

* To cut and fold is to blend a mixture by using one of two motions; cutting through the mixture with the edge of a spoon or other implement, or; sliding the implement along the bottom of the bowl and bringing it up at the side to lift the lower portion of the mixture and fold it over the upper portion.

These motions are repeated until blending is complete. The object is to mix without loss of air.

Before I tried to make a rocky road ice cream using the same ingredients but I used a fudgee bar instead of oreo and added some mallows.

This homemade ice cream recipe is delicious and I offered mine to my family before, and they all loved it.

Aside from being the most love tasty treat and its delightful taste, there are health benefits you can get from it. If you're cheating on your diet and guilty of eating a bowl of ice cream after your exercise or after the gym, you may feel that way after reading this. Eating this frozen dessert can be beneficial for you.

Ice Cream gives you instant energy, and this is because of one of its contend that's responsible for its sweetness, the sugar. So, if you're on energy, grab a scoop of ice cream to regain your energy.

The presence of phosphorus assists in increasing your libido by maintaining a tab of your testosterone levels. However, don't overthink it. You can't eat a tub of ice cream daily and expect to lose weight. Eating ice cream should be in moderation so that it may help you through your weight loss.

Now, that you know how ice cream is beneficial to our body, it is important to remember that it may have some side-effects too. Consuming too much amount of ice cream daily can be addicting and it may lead to overconsumption and worst, you may end up obese. It is best to consume ice cream in moderation to enjoy its sweet fascinating taste and health benefits.
