Good day! Kapagod these past few days. . . From my last article that my wife got scammed, we're taking action on how to get justice. . . We took every move very carefully:

  1. Requested the item to be blocked.

  2. Went to a crime investigation body and reported the incident.

  3. Went to a town hall office and did a blotter report

  4. Contacted the courier service provider to report the incident.

  5. Checked the location where the last transaction was done.

  6. Seek legal advice for further concerns.

Lahat nang ito, we did it in three days. From one place to another. From one report to another. From one story sharing to another. Imagine ilang securities, ilang admins, ilang attorneys and ilang evidences for this scam BS thing. . .

Well nowadays, halos lahat ng bagay nagagawa na digitally. Online transactions, Online training, Online Business, Online Payment, Online Reading, and also Online Scamming, Online Fraud, Online Crimes etc.

Hindi mo na kelangan pumunta sa restaurants to dine or order for take-out. Hindi mo na kelangan pumunta ng boutique shops or shopping malls to buy something. With just a click of a button, and poof, right in-front of your doorstep. Hassle-free talaga. Sending money, payment of dues, sending greetings to loved one. Click, click and click. . . .

For me (personal choice na din), I still want to do the traditional way. Maybe because of assurance and security purposes. Gaya nyan, we got scammed online, nasan ung security na legit ung kausap mo online? Nasan ung security na payment transaction is successful? Nasan ung security na talagang natanggap ng buyer (or scammer) ung item? I do admit may lapses on my end in order to verify the legitimacy of the buyer and his/her intention (or modus), but still, convenience of digital transaction somehow has flaws. Anyone can be someone, anything can be altered, manipulations can be done: fake accounts, fake receipts, fake bookings, etc.

I'm not against digital technology (as an engineer, I do cling on technology development and implementation), it's just that not all times, everything you see or do in digital world is secured. Kahit nga simpleng text conversation, it can be altered or can be accessed without your knowledge. Even your own identity can be altered and be used in scams and deception (Facebook is widely exposed to this). Iba pa din ung hand-in-hand dealings. Kausap mo ung tao personally, handling over the payment personally, handling the item to the receiver personally. Ikaw mismo ang involve.

Anyway, need to make a follow-up. . . My wife and I want to have justice on this. . . Not because to have the item back, but to end the deceitful operation of this scammer. Kung papabayaan lang o papalampasin lang ang nangyari na to (yes, item can be replaced), dadami pa ang pwedeng maging biktima nito. Sa iba pa na mahilig sa online transactions, be careful (and I know you do) and be keen with every detail. Babush!!!
