Despite being a little-known non-browser, Brave has features that put it even above Chrome.
SHARED
Although Chrome, Firefox and Opera are the most popular and used browsers in the world today, there are also others that are on par, or even better, despite being little known.
What is the Brave browser and why use it?
Brave is a browser with very interesting features, which is created under the Chromium platform, an open Google project with which Chrome was created, so it allows all Mountain View extensions, as described on its website.
Like the other browsers, Brave is free to use and has several elements that put it in a fairly competitive position from the rest.

Security
Security is a very sensitive issue. In the case of Chrome, your browser is connected to the Google ecosystem, leading to a storage of your users' data, which is an invasion of privacy.
Brave stands out for having a security menu that shows everything that is blocked or can be done on the open page. It also allows you to control settings for the protection of monitoring points, HTTPS connections and allows you to block commands, device recognition and cookies.
Loading speed
Unlike Chrome which has a weight of 1.8Mb, the Brave program is lighter with 1.24Mb, which makes its loading speed higher than that of Google's browser. In addition, it does not allow ads and trackers, which helps a web page load up to 8 times faster.

Appearance and functionality
Its attractive appearance and how versatile the functionality of its platform can be are other strengths that Brave has. This browser also has the popular dark mode in all its versions.
The blockchain browser formerly known as "Braver", which was originally forked from the open source browser Brave, was renamed to "Bold Browser" earlier today, citing legal threats from a "certain party".
An anti-adware fork
Braver Browser was launched in June following rumors that Brave would have automatically filled the company's affiliate link in searches for certain cryptocurrency exchanges such as Binance and Coinbase.
Announcing the project in a tweet, now deleted, on June 6, the Braver team said they had removed the injection from Brave's referral link, adding that the full version would remove "all adware," including the basic attention token (BAT) —the ERC-20 utility tokens that are awarded to Brave content creators for promoting the platform.

Around the same time, Brave co-founder and CEO Brendan Eich tweeted that the forked project "will have to change the name, also run a number of services and updates on its own." He added: "Free travel is not allowed on our servers."
Legal threats
On July 9, Braver changed its name to "Bold Browser" on Twitter, Github, and Discord, tweeting:
"Due to legal threats sent to one of our community members by a certain party, specifically seeking to financially harm them due to the forking of this browser, we are immediately changing the name and removing all association to the 'browser that will not be named' ".

Bold Browser noted that it was also removing all references to: "a browser that we previously mentioned in our tweets," calling it "a gesture of goodwill for those who send legal threats to open source contributors."
When asked if they expect legal threats to stop after the rebrand, a contributor to Bold Browser told Cointelegraph:
“The threat letter demanded that the coders change the name of the project and remove all references to them. They all did the best they could to comply. You will have to ask them to see if they find that it is enough to return to their privacy and anonymity respecting the standards by which they are advertised. "

Cointelegraph reached out to Brave for additional details, but did not receive a response as of press time.
Another potential fork inbound
Additionally, the contributor told Cointelegraph that they are planning to build a new browser by forking Ungoogled Chromium instead of Brave. "Not because of legal issues, but because the original code is a bit messy and difficult to maintain / update," said the developer, explaining:
"We plan to make Bold a Chromium-based browser that contains the features people have come to expect from privacy-friendly ad-blocking browsers, with next-generation integrations (such as web3 and ipfs), without any adware or browser schemes. token rewards ".
