In our modernized world we have today, we depend on energy sources that is inexpensive and eco-friendly. Syngas can be produced from many sources including coal, natural gas, and biomass. For instance, coal gasification was made with syngas generally which resulted a product of illuminating gas or coal gas for gas lighting, for cooking and for heating. The same thing to natural gas and biomass, it has products of industrial and mechanical that are very useful. Syngas can also be used to produce a diversity of chemicals like methanol and ammonia, also resource for production of hydrogen and synthetic hydrocarbon fuels. Synthesis gas or syngas, is a fuel that contains mainly carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and oxygen. Waste is one of the largest problems in our world but with the discovery of syngas, this problem can be slowly mitigated in time. With high temperature, extreme heat tears apart the chemical bonds in waste which results into producing syngas. The two main elements that are created in gasification are hydrogen and carbon — two of the building blocks of most fuels and chemicals. The hazardous materials created in process of the production of syngas can be turned into slag which can be used to pave roads and for roofing. Syngas is also used in alcohol and liquid fuels with methanol and ethanol being the basis for synthesis of other alcohols. Not only we can produce electricity and alcohol but it can also contribute in reducing waste gradually. We can also find methane in a dumpsite that could serve as a raw material for producing diesel fuel or biodiesel which is positively striking because methane produces less carbon dioxide. Syngas contributes a big help to the world for it is an efficient solution in economic related problems and at the same time it is more eco-friendly compared to other gasification processes.
