There are lots of qoutes or phrases that I've encounter in my 20 years of existence.
But this phrase is a powerful one that in every situation i was, i always think of this. I remember that i hear this phrase way back when i was in senior high while making a reflection in one of our subject.
And now this is the phrase that i hold onto in my life.
Carpe diem means seize the day basically means do what you want to do now, not tommorow, not for the following month or years. Do it now. Because we doesn't know what might come tomorrow. We doesn't what tommorow will bring. And the truth is you don't even know if there will be a tommorow. Carpe diem deals a lot about being present, taking action and not procastinating.
At some point in our life we stop breathing, turn cold and die. That might sound dark and depressing but it doesn't have to be. In fact it's just the opposite. The fact that we accept mortality is the time we accept the fact that we only have now. And by that it's very important that you know what you want. And it's clear what you want to be in the future.
Applying to life the Carpe Diem, you should avoid things such as, put things off.
Even though we all know that we will die most of us living life as if we won't or as if that is not going to happen. And the consequences of this is we wait. We put things of. We spend a lot of time doing unimportant things because we have this thinking that we have unlimited time and the long that we put things off, ended we waste our time.
So there's no better time to do things you want, do it now. Right now and start seizing the day. Even if it's not easy for you, this is not a necessary easy thing, but start doing right now.
