FOODlog #11: Nasi Lemak Ayam Rempah & Lobak Having dinner with some friends today before going for a movie. We're having dinner at a new place that recently opened near where we live called 'MamaLee'. They're signature dish is a 'Nasi Lemak'. I ordered Nasi Lemak with Ayam Rempah which is chicken with various spices. The chicken was a fried chicken and fried spices topped on top of the chicken.

It was a super generous portion with 2 pieces of chicken and cost RM14 (roughly 3+ USD). It came with the typical condiments like fried anchovies, fried groundnuts, freshly sliced cucumber, and half a hard boiled egg. We also ordered a side dish to share. Which is called 'lobak', a Malaysian dish which is a meat spiced with 5 spice powder and wrapped in a bean curd skin and deep fried. It was served with sweet Thai chili sauce. This dish was very good.

For my drink I ordered a cup of iced soy bean milk.

Nice new indoor place that serves some good food. Will come again to try out some of the other dishes.
