FOODlog #27: Pan Mee Wife bought some 'Pan Mee' for lunch today. It's a noodle dish that you can either choose to come with the broth or a dry type and the broth seperate. There are many types of 'Pan Mee' and for this type, I like it with the soup. You could say its like the Chinese version of a ramen. You can also choose your type of noodles either thick cut or thin. Today I got thin type. I think I still prefer the thick type as it has more bite to it and I think more suitable for this type of dish.

The broth is a anchovie broth with lots of aromatics. It's super flavorful and the highlight of the dish. Other ingredients in the dish are minced pork, mushrooms, and a vegatable that's unique to Malaysia called 'Mani Chai'. It has a very unique flavor and taste and lends to the broth a special flavor. They also come with a chili dipping sauce which is tangy and spicy. Super delicious and pairs well with each mouthful.
