March 11, 2021 - Let's look at the last 24-hour's movers & gainers of CoinMarketCap's top 100!
The thing that immediately jumps out about today's winners is that two of the top five come from the same place: Theta.tv. Theta Fuel (TFUEL) and THETA (THETA) are both pumping hard. TFUEL, especially, is up 155% in the past 7 days. In February, this article from Cointelegraph suggested three reasons that might be leading the rise: the Theta Token Minter (i.e., NFTs), ThetaSwap, and big-name partnerships like Lionsgate. Theta has been a steady gainer for the past couple of weeks and is still showing strong indicators.
Helium (HNT) is a new face to me since I've been creating these lists and doing daily analysis, and it's an exciting project. Their tagline is "a world of hotspots," and their goal is to build the world's first peer-to-peer wireless network. One of the more interesting aspects of Helium is that you mine HNT by installing a radio device, which acts as a node in the network. Here's another article from Cointelegraph that forecasted growth for HNT back in January, and what we see this week is likely a result of them executing on these plans.
At number three, we have Hedera Hashgraph (HBAR)--another steady gainer in the past two weeks. As mentioned earlier this week, they have an upgrade to their Mainnet this week which is fueling some hype.
Finally, at number five, we find Zilliqa (ZIL). Zilliqa Capital just announced, "a new approach to grow [the] Southeast Asian financial ecosystem." Read the announcement here on Businesswire. They noted, "developers and startups building on the Zilliqa platform will have to look no further for their immediate funding needs." This news will surely help to drive adoption of the platform--very exciting!
